1866. Tucson, Ariz. Sept. 11. 31-year-old man struck and killed by a silver pickup truck that fled the scene.
1867. Durham, Maine. Sept. 12. 51-year-old man on a bicycle injured when struck by a 2006 or newer Ford Fusion, 2006 or newer Mercury Milan, a 2008, 2009, 2010 Lincoln MKZ or a 2006 or 2007 Lincoln Zephyr that fled.
1868. Dumas, Ark. Sept. 12. 37-year-old man struck and killed by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
1869. Bellingham, Wash. Sept. 11. 20-year-old man injured when struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
1870. Huntsville, Ala. Sept. 13. 35-year-old man suffers minor injuries when struck by a vehicle which fled the scene.
1871. Waco, Texas. Sept. 14. 53-year-old man struck and killed by a light-colored SUV, that may have been a Ford Explorer, which fled the scene.

After more than a month in hospital beds in San Francisco and Philadelphia, 9-year-old Phillies fan Ryan White took a victory lap in his Bucks County driveway that would make his hero, Ryan Howard, proud.
Cheered by 150 friends, neighbors, and well-wishers Saturday morning, Ryan used his new walker to make his way to the foot of the brick driveway. Then he turned around and walked slowly but steadily till he neared the two-car garage, decorated with a “Welcome Home Ryan!” poster made by the fourth-grade class he has yet to attend.

Esmeralda Ramirez usually attended church on Sunday afternoons. Aug. 14 was no exception for the 24-year-old Cal State L.A. student.
At around 2:30 p.m., she headed to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with her boyfriend, whom she planned to marry in November. While walking on the sidewalk on Baldwin Park Boulevard near Stewart Avenue, she was struck by a drunk driver. She died at the scene within minutes.
The tragedy inspired the city council to do something some had been asking for for years: put a traffic signal at the intersection.

The city of Desert Hot Springs could go to trial next month in a civil suit filed by the parents of a 13-year-old girl who was killed in a hit-and-run.
Carissa Nwene was struck on Nov. 16, 2007, as she walked north on Palm Drive to Desert Springs Middle School. The driver has not been found.

The El Paso County Coroner has confirmed to KKTV 11 News that the body found inside a car Tuesday at Memorial Hospital was Christen Vargas. Earlier that day, she was involved in a hit-and-run with a deputy who fired his weapon.

Amy Senser isn’t the first Minnesotan not to face immediate charges despite admitting to authorities through a lawyer that her vehicle was involved in a fatal hit-and-run.
Instead, her case is following a pattern seen in other investigations where the involvement and advice of defense lawyers from the beginning of the case mean a sometimes-substantial delay before criminal charges are filed.
