1785. Rochester, NH. Aug. 9. 26-year-old woman suffers non-life-threatening injuries when struck by a green Dodge Neon that fled.
1786. Sudbury, Ct. Aug. 9. 26-year-old man on bicycle riding through a pedestrian crosswalk suffers minor injuries after being struck by a four-door sedan which fled.
1787. Scranton, Pa. Aug. 9. 37-year-old man in critical condition after being struck by a small, white car which fled.
1788-89. Dallas. Aug. 10. Two teenage girls struck, one fatally, when struck by a 1997 teal Kia Sephia with the license plate 377SLF that fled the scene.
1790-91. Maryville, Tenn. Aug. 11. Two bicyclists injured when struck by an older-model red car — possibly a four-door sedan — which fled the scene.
1792. San Ysidro, Cal. Aug. 13. 28-year-old suffers broken leg when struck by a beige 90’s four-door which fled the scene.
1793. Van Nuys, Cal. Aug. 13. 51-year-old gas-station attendant injured when, after an argument with a customer who tried to drive off, traveled for almost half a mile with the man clinging to his hood before fleeing.
1794. Memphis, Tenn. Aug. 12. 37-year-old man riding his bicycle “apparently managed to make it about five more blocks to his girlfriend’s house. When he got there, he told her he was hit by a car near Overton Square.” He soon died.
“Somewhere in Overton Square, he was hit by a car,” said Dodson. “Those were his last words. I’m hoping someone knows something.”
1795. Terrebonne, La. Aug. 13. 42-year-old teacher in critical condition with a broken jaw, ribs and other bones on the right side of her body, as well as head and lung injuries, after being struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.

At first the couple told police Mariah was killed by a hit-and-run driver. Police said Pennington later admitted Mariah fell out of a sport utility vehicle he was driving.
