1764. Swissvale, Pa. Aug. 2. Woman suffers minor injuries when struck by vehicle which didn’t stop.
1765. Dundalk, Md. Aug. 3. 31-year-old female pedestrian injured when struck by an unknown dark-colored sedan, possibly a four door model, which fled the scene.
1766. Charlotte, NC. Aug. 3. 20-year-old man on bicycle fractured his neck, possibly his eye socket, and other internal injuries, and is in and out of consciousness, after being struck by a white Ford F-150 with an extended bed which fled. “I was mad because someone hit him and left him in the ditch to die possibly. I was mad someone would do that,” Avendano’s mother said. Said his friend, “He flew a good bit from where his bike was and he was messed up pretty bad. I ran to him as fast as possible…passing the truck, and the guy just keeps going. He stops for two seconds and keeps going.”
1767. Huntington, WV. Aug. 3. Man injured when struck by a gray Honda with Ohio plates that fled the scene.

St. Petersburg, Florida — Police say a man involved in a serious hit and run accident near Tropicana Field is injured, but refuses to seek treatment for fear of arrest.
Upon arrival, officers found one of the vehicles on fire and a person on the ground unconscious. The driver of the other vehicle fled.

DICKINSON, Texas – A teenager has been charged in connection with his nephew’s hit-and-run death. Dickinson police said an 18-month-old boy was hit by a pickup truck as he played outside on Sunday. The boy suffered severe head injuries and died at the scene. Investigators said the 16-year-old driver was the boy’s uncle.

Salem Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a bicyclist who struck a woman as she stepped off a Cherriot’s bus onto the sidewalk.
The victim, Martha Johnson, 62, of Salem, fell to the ground and suffered multiple fractures on her left arm, and injuries to her face, said Salem Police Lt. James Aguilar. Johnson was taken to Salem Hospital, where she was treated and released.
The male suspect, who gave Johnson false information about himself, road off on his bicycle before police arrived at the scene of the accident.

A former Manhattan Beach police officer was sentenced Tuesday to three years’ probation and 45 days of roadwork for his role in an off-duty hit-and-run crash that cost him and two fellow officers their jobs.
Richard William Hatten, 36, of Manhattan Beach pleaded no contest in Torrance Superior Court to a misdemeanor count of leaving the scene of a collision, the District Attorney’s Office said.

PORTAGE, Wis. — A Wausau woman has been charged in a hit-and-run crash that killed a 75-year-old woman in Portage.
Elsa A. A. Sanchez, 31, has been charged with hit-and-run resulting in death in connection with a crash Saturday night that killed Doris L. Sessions.

SEATTLE — Rebecca Wirtel nearly lost her 9-year-old daughter to a hit-and-run crash two months ago. But thanks to her quick actions, the girl is on the mend as police search for the driver responsible for the crash. Alli Nelson has perfected the art of using crutches. She’s slowly getting back on her feet after one them was crushed in the crash near Denny and Dexter on Memorial Day.

A hit-and-run driver who was followed by his victim until police arrived turned out to be a habitual offender, police said. Terry Levon Snyder, 52, of Cherry Ave., Cookeville, ended up being charged with the Class E felony of driving while restricted as a habitual offender, leaving the scene of an accident, and driving on a revoked license, according to a report by Cookeville Police Officer Brian Long.

A 24-year-old Cal State Long Beach alumna is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle while walking in downtown Long Beach.
The hit-and-run traffic collision occurred on July 16 at approximately 1:50 a.m. on Broadway.
Mallory Farrow was admitted to St. Mary’s Hospital intensive care unit, and received head trauma, leaving her in a coma for several days.
Farrow, a communications and film studies graduate, is now at home and learning how to walk again. She suffered injuries to the right rear side of her brain that affected her left foot.
“It’s like a computer reboot,” her father Mike Farrow said.

SAN DIEGO — A 21-year-old woman accused in a hit-and-run crash in Rancho Bernardo, in which she allegedly drove drunk and hit a decorated Marine from behind on his motorcycle, leaving him hospitalized on life support, pleaded not guilty Wednesday to three felony charges.
