1796. Lake Grove, NY. Aug. 14. Man in his 30s or 40s struck and killed by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
1797. Clinton Twp., Mich. Aug. 12. 55-year-old woman struck and killed by a pickup truck which fled the scene.
1798. Kansas City, Mo. Aug. 14. 50-year-old woman struck, dragged and killed by a white vehicle which fled the scene.
1799. Evansville, Ind. Aug. 15. 66-year-old woman suffers serious but non-life-threatening leg injuries when struck by a blue or black 1995 to 1998 model Pontiac Bonneville or Nissan Maxima which took off.
1800. Sonoma, Cal. Aug. 14. 63-year-old San Francisco Civil Service Commission and prominent figure in local Republican politics struck and killed by a white newer model Ford F-150 pickup truck with an extended cab which fled the scene.
1801. Highland Park, NJ. Aug. 15. 57-year-old man in critical condition after being struck by a hit-and-run driver as he was riding his bicycle to work.
1802-3. Houston. Aug. 15. Woman killed and man injured in separate hit-and-runs.

Police are still questioning an Albany man they say struck a 3-year-old boy, threatened witnesses with a pistol and then ran from the scene Saturday night in the North Central neighborhood.
Police said Dale Gilmore, 21, was charged with second-degree assault after turning himself in late Sunday. Additional charges are pending.

BALDWIN PARK, Calif. (KTLA) — Police have identified a young woman who was struck and killed by a drunk driver while walking to church.
24-year old Esmeralda Ramirez was walking with her boyfriend around 2:30 p.m. Sunday when she was hit near Stewart Avenue and Baldwin Park Boulevard.
Police say the 27-year-old driver, who has been identified as Raphael Espinosa Moreno, lost control of his 2005 Jeep Laredo and hit the woman.

A Grand Forks man was arrested Sunday after police say he was involved in an accident and fled from the scene in his vehicle.
Police say Alexander Pribula was found at a southeastern Grand Forks home after officers followed a car fluid trail from an accident in the 3800 block of Belmont Road.
