1691. Indianapolis. July 10. Man in his 20s or 30s struck and killed by an unidentified car that fled.

1692. Flomaton, Fla. July 10. 26-year-old man injured when struck by a red pickup truck that fled the scene.

1693. Washington, D.C. July 9. Teenager riding a bike struck and killed by an unidentified vehicle that fled.

1694. Beachwood, NJ. July 11. 24-year-old man hospitalized after being struck on his bicycle by a light-colored sedan, the driver of which stopped, then drove away, after the occupants promised help that never arrived.

1695. St. Augustine, Fla. July 8. Man on bicycle injured when struck by a pickup truck that fled the scene.

1696. Chicago. July 10. 49-year-old man on his way home from a party, waiting for a bus with his girlfriend when he was hit by a car which fled the scene. (Updated with arrest)

1697. Chicago. July 12. Woman critically injured when struck by a dark-colored two-door vehicle which fled the scene.

DENHAM SPRINGS, La. – State police say a 34-year-old Denham Springs man is accused of texting while driving and of two hit-and-run wrecks, one of which injured a 17-year-old boy. Trooper Russell Graham II said Sunday that Andrew J. Williams also was booked late Saturday with negligent injury and reckless driving.

The prominent Getzville doctor accused of drunken driving in the incident that killed an Amherst skateboarder over the weekend turned himself in to town police 91 minutes after the fatal hit-and-run, authorities revealed Monday.

Now the Erie County District Attorney’s Office and Amherst police want to know where Dr. James G. Corasanti was, what he was doing and whom he talked with during the hour-and-a-half interlude between the incident and the surrender.

Police trying to find the hit-and-run driver who killed a pedestrian on a Pike County highway say they have tracked down a truck driver to the state of Ohio.
The victim was identified as Kevin W. Shipley, 49, of Shelbina, Mo. Shipley’s body was spotted sometime before 8 a.m. Tuesday, partly on the shoulder and partly on the grass along U.S. Highway 61, said Jim Turner, the Pike County coroner.
