1872. Mackinaw City, Mich. Sept. 10. 64-year-old man injured when struck by a vehicle that was dark in color and looked similar to a Ford Taurus, that fled.
1873. Mineral Wells, Texas. Sept. 15. 2-year-old girl critically injured when struck by a small gray compact car which fled the scene.
1874-5. Chicago. Sept. 17. Woman, on her 84th birthday, killed and and another woman in extremely critical condition after being struck by a black or dark blue newer-model Ford F-150 pickup truck with a ladder on the bed and a spare tire on the right rear axle. The driver was described as a male wearing dark clothing. He fled the scene.
1876. Kewanee, Ill. Sept. 16. 40-year-old man on a bicycle struck and killed by a gray Chevrolet car which fled.
1877. Utica, NY. Sept. 17. 12-year-old girl suffers major injuries after being struck by a GMC Sierra Pickup truck which fled the scene.
1878. Bronx, NY. Sept. 18. 32-year-old man struck and killed by a white Lincoln Navigator which fled the scene.
1879. Belleville, NJ. Sept. 18. 47-year-old widow of a judge struck and killed by an unidentified vehicle that fled.
1880. Lancaster, Pa. Sept. 18. 77-year-old man suffers serious injuries when struck by a tan- or gold-colored Chrysler Sebring driven by a man in his mid-30s. The car is from the late 1990s to early 2000s, police said.
1881. College Park, Md. Sept. 18. Unidentified man struck and killed by a red Honda which fled.

Three years ago, college student Melissa Lech was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Joliet. Now her family is teaming up with NASCAR driver Kevin Conway in an effort to track down the person responsible for Melissa’s death.
It was a driver who took Lech’s life. But now another is giving her family hope.
“I don’t think there’s anything you can do to necessarily ease the pain, but I think there’s something, a lot to be said to letting them know what happened that night. There’s so many unanswered questions,” said Conway.

Although David Ketchum was spared prison time, he still faces a $1 million lawsuit filed by Richard Lucente, who was seriously injured when police say Ketchum crashed into him following an incident at an East End bar.
