1639-1640. Mesa, Az. June 19. Two 25-year-old men struck by a vehicle, one fatally, the other missing a leg. Police said the driver took off “possibly with a portion of the victim’s leg still stuck to the front of the car.”
1641. Franklin, NJ. June 19. 23-year-old woman among a group tending to an injured dog that was later euthanized struck and killed by a black Dodge pickup, either the 2500 or 3500 series which fled the scene.
1642. Mount Washington, Pa. June 18. 3-year-old boy injured when struck by a dark green station wagon, possibly a late model Honda Accord.
1643. Moberly, Mo. June 17. 12-year-old boy riding a bicycle hit by a white four-door, make and model unknown, which fled the scene.
1644. San Francisco. June 19. Man in his 30s or 40s killed when struck by a white Chevy van which fled the scene.
1645. Phoenix. June 17. 75-year-old man struck and killed by a white vehicle which fled the scene.
1646. College Park, Ga. June 17. 21-year-old man struck and killed by a late-1980s model Oldsmobile Cutlass which fled the scene.
1647. Brooklyn. June 16. 91-year-old man struck and killed by a Nissan Pathfinder which fled the scene.
1648. Saugus, Mass. June 19. 41-year-old woman struck and killed by a red vehicle which fled.

His mother told WAVE 3 she’s frustrated with the police investigation. The 16-year-old who was wanted in connection with the crash turned himself into police on Thursday. He was questioned but then released from police custody.

BAY CITY — On a snowy morning in 1998, Irene M. Nuncio was wrapping up a night on the town when a car ran her down near the Midland Street entertainment district on the West Side.
The crash left Nuncio with severe injuries to her head and eyes, including a life-threatening blood clot that required surgeons at Bay Regional Medical Center to remove a portion of her brain.
In the years following, Nuncio — who was 27 at the time of the crash — was confined to a bed or a wheelchair, largely unresponsive to the world around her and only able to obtain nutrients through a feeding tube.
Nuncio died Thursday, four days after her 41st birthday.
