2203. East Hartford, Ct. Jan. 3. 31-year-old woman injured when struck by a gray colored late-model Dodge Challenger which turned off its headlights and kept driving.
2204. Milton, NY. Jan. 3. 12-year-old boy waiting for his school bus injured when he was hit by a black sedan, possibly a Chevrolet, which fled.
2205. Boulder, Colo. Jan. 4. 23-year-old University of Colorado student injured when she was struck by a vehicle which fled the scene.
2206. White Center, Wash. Jan. 5. 55-year-old man suffers non-life-threatening injuries when hit and carried a half a block by a vehicle which left a side mirror when it fled.
2207. Moreno Valley, Cal. Jan. 4. 62-year-old woman hospitalized with broken bones and severe head trauma when struck by a mid-90s dark-colored 2-door Honda sedan with a black hood which fled the scene.
2208. Calexico, Cal. Jan. 5. 38-year-old woman who had dropped off her daughter at school suffered a laceration to her liver, injuries to her head, back and chest when struck by a black vehicle which fled.
2209. Big Spring, Texas. Jan. 6. Unidentified pedestrian struck and killed by an unidentified vehicle which fled.
2210. Chula Vista, Cal. Jan. 6. Woman injured when struck by a silver Hyundai or Kia with a broken right front headlight and a missing right side rear view mirror, which fled the scene.

The first time, he suffered a brain injury. The second time, it took his life.
The 52-year-old St. Catharines man died in hospital Wednesday after being hit by a stolen car in what police say was a hit-and-run incident Dec. 21.
He was walking his beloved dog, Taco, when the accident happened around 5:40 p.m. on Geneva St. near Maple St.
Friends and neighbours said it was the second time Hickey was hit at that intersection.
Rehab therapist Greg Lidstone, who specializes in helping patients with brain injuries, said he started working with Hickey after his first accident.
“Larry was a wonderful guy,” he said. “He loved his dog Taco.”
He said Hickey adapted well to life with a brain injury and was able to go back to work.

Detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department are seeking the public’s help in finding a vehicle involved Dec. 28 in a [fatal] hit-and-run incident. Specifically, they are looking for a dark-colored Chevrolet Cavalier that might have front-end damage on the passenger side, especially around the headlight.

Amanda Heeringa, Mitchell’s sister, said her brother had emergency brain surgery after the crash. “I just want to find out who did this,” Amanda Heeringa said.
She said her brother remains in critical condition. He suffered three fractured vertebrae and his brain and lungs are bruised. “It’s day by day,” she said.
A police report indicates a white four-door Nissan occupied by two males and a female was seen leaving the scene, but it is uncertain if the vehicle was involved in the crash.

The driver, 28-year-old Richard L. Dennis III, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said he was driving too fast on the icy road. He was not wearing a seatbelt. Dennis might have been involved in a hit-and-run in Plymouth just before the fatal crash, police said. The investigation is ongoing.

Waukesha County Wisc. businesswoman Christine Druecke was sentenced to eight months in jail for hitting a police officer and fleeing the scene.

A 27-year-old Odessa man is wanted in connection to an early morning August hit-and-run that sent one person to the hospital. According to a news release from the Odessa Police Department, an arrest warrant has been issued for Jason Duane Peters for failure to stop and render aid, a third-degree felony.

A Huntington Beach man pleaded guilty Thursday to a hit-and-run accident that killed a bicyclist. Adam Carl Garrett, 19, admitted to crashing his car into a bike carrying Hung Khac Do, 25, and fleeing without reporting the accident, according to the Orange County district attorney’s office. Garrett was driving toward Huntington Beach at 3 a.m. May 15 when his car collided with Do, who was riding his bicycle down Warner Avenue. Do was thrown from his bicycle and landed in the street. Garrett drove off to his home four miles away, prosecutors said.

That was the explanation proffered by Steven A. Brandenburg after rear-ending another car on New Year’s Eve, injuring a 17-year-old girl, according to a criminal complaint. Brandenburg followed up by leaving the scene, adding to what became a lengthy list of traffic- and drug-related charges.

A man who gave police information that led to an arrest in a hit-and-run incident that took the life of a 12-year-old boy has turned over his $2,500 reward to the victim’s mother.
Thursday night, the Lakewood Policemen’s Benevolent Association Local 71 presented a check for the reward money to Alberta Juarez, 30, whose son Edward was killed when he was struck by a vehicle the night of Dec. 16.

Officers found blood at the scene and believed the driver had a significant laceration. They notified area hospitals of Narciso-Ventrua’s description. The blood trail led to a nearby home where a resident told officers her daughter had just left with “someone.”
At the same time, Jennie Edmundson Hospital notified officers a man matching Narciso-Ventrua’s description had arrived at the hospital. Officers allege Narciso-Ventrua admitted at the hospital to driving the vehicle. Reports stated alcohol may be a factor in the crash.
