2195. Lakeland, Fla. Jan. 2. 18-year-old man on skateboard injured when struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
2196. East Stroudsburg, Pa. New Year’s Day. 28-year-old woman suffered a broken leg and head injury when struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
2197. Livonia, Mich. New Year’s Day. 81-year-old man injured when struck by a beige Ford Taurus made in the 2000s which fled the scene. “I feel like someone who can hit an 81 year old man and leave him in the street to die without calling 911…. I think they should be caught,” says Ally Hoskins.
2198. Huntington, NY. New Year’s Day. Man struck and killed by a white sedan with white New York State registration plates and possibly a rear spoiler which fled the scene.
2199. Wales, Mass. Jan. 3. Yet publicly identified man who’s body was found roadside struck and killed by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
2200. Wilmington, Del. Jan. 3. 58-year-old woman in a wheelchair attempting to cross the street with groceries struck and killed by a gold SUV which fled the scene. More:
A Delaware woman crossing a road in her wheelchair Tuesday was killed by three hit-and-run drivers, police say. In a horrific twist, sources tell NBC Philadelphia that the woman would not have been crossing the road in a wheelchair if she hadn’t lost her leg in a previous hit-and-run accident.

2201. Coachella, Cal. Jan. 2. 50-year-old man struck and killed by a light-colored sedan, possibly a Toyota Camry, which fled the scene.
2202. Binghamton, NY. Jan. 3. Woman injured when struck by a black Dodge Avenger which fled the scene.

A drunk driver was arrested New Year’s Eve after police say she ran over and killed a 64-year-old man in Stockton. “You’re not only putting yourself at-risk more importantly you are putting everybody out there on the road at-risk,” said Officer Pete Smith with the Stockton Police Department.

Melissa Johnson, 32, was struck while crossing the road near Maywood Drive around 7:15 p.m., police said. She was walking to the store from her home on nearby Summit Avenue.

A Philadelphia police officer was injured early Monday morning when someone who had been pulled over on the 800 block of E. Washington Lane, near Chew Avenue, hit the gas when instructed to turn the vehicle off.

Police said the victim, identified as Chelsie Renee Robinson, 24, was dragged 100 feet by the vehicle. She was flown to UPMC Mercy hospital in Pittsburgh with life-threatening injuries, police said. Police have issued an arrest warrant for Maris Myers Chandler, Jr., 22, of Clarksville.

PORTSMOUTH — A woman told police that nervousness kept her from staying at the scene of an accident — and from answering police truthfully when they found her asleep in bed an hour and a half later. Police arrested Olivia I. Skutnik, 19, of 64 Canonchet Dr., at 9:32 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 26, more than eight hours after the accident occurred on Freeborn Street, for not stopping at the scene of an accident and reckless driving.

A 17-year-old girl injured in a hit-and-run crash on New Year’s Day died at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, according to the Clark County coroner’s office.

In addition to witness information, police say a quarter mile long trail of anti-freeze led them to a Willow Street home where they found Laverne Streeter, 37, of Third Street in the Falls. Streeter admitted to the accident and told police he took off because he panicked.
