2144. Buford, Ga. Dec. 15. 61-year-old man struck and killed by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene; “investigators are looking for a vehicle that has a piece of plastic missing from a headlight cover and a shattered side window.”

2146-47. Columbus, Ohio. Dec. 15. Two men injured when struck by a silver mid-size car which fled the scene. “Two Army Reserve medics said that they witnessed the incident and rushed to help the victims. The medics said that they were trained to handle such emergencies and were able to stabilize the men until emergency crews arrived on the scene.”
2148. Lakewood, NJ. Dec. 16. 12-year-old boy struck and killed by a dark-colored mini-van or large, dark vehicle which fled the scene. “Alberta Juarez, 30, Edward’s mother, was held up by mourners who tried to comfort the grief-stricken woman. Several times, she collapsed to the ground, sobbing and holding onto a small blanket that kept the presence of her son with her.”
2149. Medford, Ore. Dec. 17. Man injured when struck by blue van which fled. “Witnesses say there was a group of friends hanging out when one of them, who was in a blue van, tried to run them all over before he drove out of the lot.”
2150. Riverside, Cal. Dec. 16. 40-year-old tow operator loading a disabled vehicle onto his flatbed struck and killed by a tan sedan which fled the scene. “Part of the vehicle was left behind at the scene and officials said they have footage of the tan sedan after the incident occurred.”
2151. Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Dec. 16. Woman critically injured when struck by a light-colored vehicle with a dark top which fled the scene.
2152. Tacoma, Wash. Dec. 16. Woman struck and killed by an SUV which fled the scene. Driver later turned herself in.

GLEN ROCK — Two people who were accused in September of running over a man in Passaic who later died were found early Thursday morning, passed out drunk in a car on a front lawn on South Maple Avenue, authorities said.
Christina Imperato, 24, of Washington Township was found just after midnight covered in vomit and slumped over the steering wheel of a running car, said Capt. Jonathan Miller of the Glen Rock police.
Julius Lacewell, 32, of Lodi was found slumped over and unresponsive in the back seat, having vomited, urinated and defecated on himself, Miller said.

More than two months have passed since an elderly man was hit and killed as he walked along the shoulder of a dark highway in Hiawatha (Iowa). Police again are requesting the public’s help in the case.
Eugene Fisher, 89, of Hiawatha, was struck by a vehicle early on the morning of Oct. 8 as he walked along Robins Road, police said. An off-duty police officer found him around 2:30 a.m., lying face down just south of Tower Terrace Road. Fisher was pronounced dead at the scene.

Raul Rios doesn’t recall leaving the party or starting to walk across East Post Road. Thankfully, he has no memory of being hit by the black Mercedes Benz or slamming into its windshield or being tossed into the air or landing headfirst on the pavement as the car sped away.
“The first thing I remember is seeing my legs stretched out in a hospital bed and wondering what I was doing there,” the 24-year-old recalled when he opened his eyes after 15 days in a medically induced coma at Westchester Medical Center.

Police have arrested a person they suspect was involved in the hit-and-run crash that killed a man on Dec. 3. Franck Armand Belibi, 40, is a resident of Centennial and a suspect in the fatal hit-and-run crash. There are reports of Belibi being a medical doctor.
On Dec. 7, Denver Police located the gold Toyota Sequoia they believe was involved in an Aurora hit-and-run crash that killed a man on Dec. 3. Aurora Police say the vehicle was found and towed to a secure location by officers.

“They tried desperately to get the trapped individual outside the vehicle, but they were unsuccessful,”said Robertson. “The person that was inside of the vehicle was badly burned, beyond recognition.”
Cops are looking for a late-model black Nissan sedan, possibly a Maxima or an Altima, with dark tinted windows and a fleur de lis on the rear. The vehicle also has extensive front end damage including a missing headlight. Anyone with information on such a vehicle is asked to call Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.

A warrant has been issued for Thomas L. Lang, charging him with aggravated DUI and felony hit-and-run, Coeur d’Alene police said Friday in a press release. Police said Lang was close friends with the victim, 22-year-old Jessica White of Coeur d’Alene. Police also said White and several of her friends knew who struck her, but failed to report it.
