1557. El Paso, Texas. May 14. 18-year-old woman seriously injured when struck by a gray four-door sedan. According to her mother, Kara Perreira, Hernandez was left for dead with nearly 18 feet of her blood trailing down the street.
1558. Lubbock, Texas. May 16. Woman struck and injured by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.

1563. Norfolk, Va. May 19. Woman seriously injured when struck by a late model/90s Toyota Paseo which took off.
1564. Granby, Mass. May 20. 50-year-old man on bicycle injured when struck by a tan-colored older Dodge or Chrysler minivan, possibly a model from 1990 through 1995 which fled the scene.
1565. Reno, Nev. May 19. Pedestrian suffers serious injuries after being struck by a silver or light van which fled the scene.
1566. Jersey City, NJ. May 20. Unidentified woman riding a bicycle left fighting for her life early this morning after she was struck and dragged by a hit-and-run yellow-cab driver. The witness said the taxi driver then stopped and got out of the cab before looking beneath the vehicle and quickly jumping back in, reports said. He put the cab in reverse and backed up toward Kennedy Boulevard, leaving the badly injured woman behind in the street, reports said.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY – A man who called police to say he witnessed a car hit and kill a bicyclist was later arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run in connection with the same crash.
Adam Garrett, 19, was booked into Orange County Jail but posted bail and was released early Monday, jail records show. Police said Garrett, who lives in Huntington Beach, faces a charge of felony hit-and-run and could face additional charges as the investigation continues.

Monica Moon was in a motorized wheelchair in the southbound lane in the 4600 block of Lambing Road on the Westside about 1:30 a.m. Saturday when she was hit by the full-size pickup truck also traveling southbound, police said. Moon was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gibson was killed around 9:30 p.m. Monday in an alleged hit and run accident that turned out to be falsely reported.
Officers arrested Mande Turner-Berger, 22 and Daniel Pennington, 31, of Goshen Wednesday afternoon for Obstruction of Justice, a class D Felony, in connection with Mariah’s death.

Kimberly Chadbourne, 43, now faces charges of drunken driving as well as leaving the scene of a property damage accident, according to police from Bangor and the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Department.

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) – A man accused of killing a husband and wife after a hit-and-run pled guilty to reckless homicide and leaving the scene of an accident Wednesday. A judge sentenced him to 12 years in prison.
Leonard Bernard Gregory, 26, refused a jury trial Wednesday afternoon for the deaths of Johnny Vice and his wife Betty in 2009. He pled guilty to two counts of reckless homicide and two counts of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.

A man accused of killing a pedestrian in a hit-and-run accident in San Francisco’s North of Panhandle neighborhood earlier this month pleaded not guilty today to charges in the case, a district attorney’s office spokesman said.
Jose Jimenez, 23, is accused of hitting James Hudson, 61, at the intersection of Masonic Avenue and Turk Boulevard in the early morning hours of May 6. Hudson died at the scene.
Jimenez, a San Francisco sheriff’s cadet who was off-duty at the time, fled the scene and struck at least four cars parked nearby before crashing into concrete planters in front of St. Mary’s Hospital, police said.

Eduardo Perez, 71, was struck in the crosswalk at Sherman Way and Canoga Avenue while he was riding his bike on Saturday at about 12:15 p.m., according to Detective Danny Martinez of LAPD Valley Traffic Division.
The suspect’s car was described as a small, black, four-door SUV that was traveling east on Sherman Way when it hit Perez while making a right turn. The driver took off without stopping to help.
