2470. Palm Desert, Cal. April 19. Woman suffer minor injuries when struck by a white or gray pickup which fled the scene.

2471. Kechi, Kansas. April 19. Man jogging killed when struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.

2472. Sylmar, Cal. April 20. Skateboarder injured when struck by a 1987 to 1991 Ford F150 XLT Lariat which fled the scene.

2473. Lafayette, La. April 20. 33-year-old man struck and killed by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.

2474. York, Pa. April 20. 12-year-old girl suffers minor injuries when struck by a burgundy Toyota Camry which fled the scene.

2475-76. Richmond, Va. April 21. 25-year-old man died and a 23-year-old man seriously injured when struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.

2477-78. South Los Angeles, Cal. April 22. 7-year-old girl critically injured and a 38-year-old man killed when struck by a pearl white Cadillac Escalade which fled.

2479. Lantana, Fla. April 22. Unidentified man killed when struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.

PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland police officers and district attorneys handed out flyers at Saturday night’s Timbers game in the hopes of solving the case of a hit-and-run crash that took the life of a 63-year-old woman. …

Investigators are also trying to track down two women who were spotted arguing inside a car shortly after the crash. They were seen at a QFC parking lot at Southwest Barnes Road and Miller Road, just two miles away.

Both of the women were described as being in their mid to late 20s, blond, short and stocky with baseball caps on their heads, possibly with Timbers logos on them.

A Chicago family is offering a reward for any information that could help police find the driver that hit and killed a 54-year-old man on the West Side three months ago.

“We would like to have closure with our family and we would like for this person to pay for what he or she has done,” said Mildred.

The family of Daryl Lincoln is putting up a $1,000 reward for any new tips that could help investigators make an arrest in the case.

Walker police are asking for help in tracking down the hit and run driver who caused a fiery crash.

The crash happened shortly before 5:30 a.m. Saturday on Alpine Avenue near 3 Mile Road Northwest. Police say a pickup truck driver hit the back of a car, forcing it off the road and into a pole. The driver was still inside his car when it caught fire. Two passersby pulled him from the burning wreckage.

“I grabbed some gloves and opened the doors and I think he was knocked out for a while. He didn’t say nothing right away but then he started hollering. We pulled him out of there and his back was on fire,” said Jerry Bajema. “I hope he’s okay.”

A Mahwah man was sentenced Friday to four years in prison for driving while high on drugs and causing a crash that killed an 80-year-old woman on her way to caring for an autistic son.
Rocco Benedetto is sentenced today to four years in prison for the vehicular homicide of 80-year-old Dorothy Scordato in 2010.
“Today, you will be taken away in handcuffs to jail, where you belong,” the victim’s daughter, Charisse Rulli, told Rocco Benedetto shortly before he was escorted out in handcuffs from state Superior Court in Hackensack.

An immigration hold has been placed on a man accused of fatally running over a 20-month-old girl in north Salinas on Monday.

Armando Bautista, 24, is being held at the Monterey County Jail in lieu of a $510,000 bail, charged in the death of Joselin Ortiz-Pantalco, who was hit by a truck in the 1600 block of Chico Way.

Her death occurred after the deadliest year for Corpus Christi pedestrians since at least 1997, the earliest available public record of such accidents.

The city has seen a steady uptick in pedestrian accidents since 2007. In 2011, 14 people were struck and killed in the city, one fewer than the number of homicide victims. In 14 years, 113 people have died after they were hit by a vehicle.

Kimberly’s death was No. 114.

The death of a 24-year-old woman walking to church was sad and eye-opening, said Capt. Jerry Vesely of the Corpus Christi Police Department.

“It made us realize that there were some mistakes pedestrians are still making and they are paying for it with their lives,” Vesely said.

A Key Largo man was arrested Friday for hitting a man with the side mirror of his truck and then leaving the scene, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

Corey Gaddys, 22, who admitted to the crime, faces a charge of leaving the scene of an accident with injuries stemming from an April 7 incident, authorities said.

Authorities said Gaddys was leaving the Full Moon Party in Islamorada when he hit 21-year-old Storm Mendez in the head, leaving him with with a head injury, and fractured nose and right orbit of the eye.

People in front of the ER tell News 4 that a car pulled up with a badly injured man inside. Witnesses say after the injured man was taken into the ER, the guard attempted to stop the driver from leaving so police could inspect the car but the driver took off.

PIERSON TOWNSHIP, MI — A 20-year-old bicycle rider has reportedly died of injuries sustained Saturday night when a 57-year-old Howard City man hit him with a pickup truck and fled, police said.

The Greenville Daily News is reporting Tyler Helton, 20, of Sand Lake, died this morning at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) – The wife of a former Minnesota Vikings tight end has admitted being behind the wheel of her husband’s sport-utility vehicle last August when it struck a man on a highway exit ramp, killing him.
