An ongoing collection of unsolved hit-and-run cases, with a focus on car/pedestrian incidents, from across the country since Jan. ‘010. If you know something about any of these incidents, or one that I’ve missed, do the right thing and call the police, even anonymously.
3131. Ossipee, NH. Nov. 10. 16-year-old male injured when struck by a “silver vehicle with a moose conservation license plate” which fled the scene.
3132-34. Santa Ana, Cal. Nov. 9. 15-, 16- and 18-year-old males injured when struck by a gray Honda two-door coupe which fled the scene.
3135. Salem, Ohio. Nov. 9. 9-year-old girl struck and killed by a vehicle which fled the scene and was found afterwards.
3136. Sacramento, Cal. Nov. 11. 61-year-old woman riding on a bicycle struck and killed by a 1992 to 1998 white Chevy 1500 pickup with a tool box in the back which fled the scene.
3137. Hammond, La. Nov. 10. 58-year-old man on a bicycle fatally struck by a maroon vehicle, possibly a Saturn, which fled the scene.
3138-39. Henry Co., Ga. Nov. 11. Police officer helping stranded motorist struck and killed, and another motorist injured when struck, by a Ford F-250 between the years 1997 and 2008 which fled the scene.
3139. Steger, Ill. Nov. 11. 70-year-old retired firefighter struck and killed by a Chevy or GMC SUV which fled the scene.
3140. New Haven, Ct. Nov. 10. 17-year-old male suffers traumatic brain injury when struck by a grey four-door Nissan Altima with heavily tinted windows which fled the scene.
3141. Hamilton, NJ. Nov. 12. Man injured when struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.

A 26-year-old man has been charged with drunken driving after he allegedly struck and critically injured an a senior citizen who was crossing a street in the Uptown neighborhood on Friday morning. Michael Izeta hit the 87-year-old pedestrian as he tried to cross the street at Broadway and Lawrence shortly after 7 a.m., police said.

Police say Clifton Matthew Mallicott, 19, struck a 43-year-old woman with a Honda Accord after he drove onto the sidewalk in the 900 block of Bland Blvd around 9 a.m.
Allegedly, one of the three occupants in the car briefly exited the car, spoke to the victim, got back inside the car and drove off.

Apopka Police said say Garcia, 23, left two passengers in his car and fled on foot. Police found him a short time later with his hands and face covered in blood, hiding behind a tree on the 600 block of East Welch Road. When he was searched, officers found a small plastic container filled with marijuana.

A man riding his bicycle found Bougan in a grassy area and initially, in the dark, thought he was looking at a deer or other animal, authorities said. Hernandez worked as an EMT for an ambulance company in Skokie, the Sheriff’s Department said.
In the dark of a snowless October night in 2011, a driver hit Geraldine Burns hard enough to leave traces of paint in her hair and scatter fragments of a Jeep Grand Cherokee around her body.
The 25-year-old mother of two from Northwest Alaska was found sprawled on Penland Parkway, between the Northway Mall and the trailer park where she lived with relatives. Medics declared her dead at the scene. It isn’t clear how long she’d been laying in the street.
Today, 13 months later, her case is the only unsolved fatal hit-and-run in Anchorage since 2004.

While the case of Geraldine Burn is the only unsolved fatal hit-and-run case open since 2004, Anchorage has seen several other high-profile collisions involving hit-and-run drivers in the past two years.

Two hours later, a 21-year-old man was taken to a local hospital after a crash on the 5 Freeway, police said. Investigators discovered the 21-year-old had property “possibly belonging” to the 72-year-old and later determined he was allegedly involved in the fatal hit and run.

ALBANY (NY) — A 42-year-old man was put behind bars following a hit-and-run accident on Saturday evening that sent two pedestrians to the hospital.

Erin Maglothin claimed she was addicted to pain pills and had fallen asleep at the time of the accident while driving. She stated her vehicle hitting the pedestrian was what woke her, according to the report.

A decade has passed since 19-year-old Johnathen Stewart was struck by a car and left to die along Route 5 in Enfield — and family and friends are still working to find out who is responsible.
“It’s been 10 years,” said Brian Stewart, Johnathen’s father, “but for me, it’s like it happened yesterday. I’m never going to forget it and I don’t want anybody else to forget it.”
