3050. Chicago. Oct. 14. 85-year-old woman struck and killed by a dark-colored vehicle which fled the scene.

3051. Dayton, Ohio. Oct. 14. Woman injured when struck by a silver vehicle which fled the scene.

3052. Camden, NJ. Oct. 14. 18-month-old boy critically injured when struck by a tan colored Buick Park Avenue which fled the scene and ditched. (Update: Arrest.)

3053. St. Johnsbury, Vt. Oct. 14. Teenager injured when struck by a Honda Civic which fled the scene.

3054. Juneau, Alaska. Oct. 12. 50-year-old woman injured when struck by a stolen, blue-colored, mid-size sport utility vehicle which fled the scene.

3055. Delta Twp., Mich. Oct. 13. 55-year-old man killed when struck by a 1999 Buick Regal which fled the scene.

3056. Fountain, Colo. Oct. 13. 78-year-old woman injured when struck by a red or burgundy sedan which fled the scene.

3057. North Salem, NY. Oct. 15. Man critically injured when struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.

3058. Cocoa Beach, Fla. Oct. 16. 26-year-old man fatally struck by a light brown or gold Chevy which fled the scene.

3059. Fresno, Cal. Oct. 11. 11-year-old boy struck and killed by a light-colored four-door sedan which fled the scene.

And I quote (I)…

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said 38-year-old Marwan Maalouf died after a Chevrolet pickup truck hit him from behind while he was riding in the bicycle lane of Shea Boulevard on Sunday. The truck drove away without stopping, according to the police report.

A passing driver saw debris on the road and noticed the Chevy stop near 134th Street. The witness told deputies the driver got out and looked as if he was checking the truck for damage. Afterward, the witness called 911 and gave deputies the suspect’s license plate number.

Deputies found the suspect, 33-year-old Nicholas Linsk, and booked him into jail. Linsk faces a felony of leaving the scene of a fatal traffic collision.

An Anchorage woman who drove away in her SUV after hitting a pedestrian in 2011, killing him, will be sentenced to one year behind bars on Monday if a judge accepts the terms of a plea deal.

Prosecutors made the deal in July with Ashley Bashore, 20, who agreed to plead guilty to criminally negligent homicide and failing to help an injured person. The plea agreement recommends a sentence of three years with two suspended, as well as six years of probation to follow the jail time.

The driver did leave his vehicle and carry to girl to an apartment, where he left her. He fled the scene without providing any information about himself.

ZION (CBS)– Police are searching for a far north suburban man wanted for questioning in a fatal hit-and-run accident that killed a 20-year-old man last week.

The suspect is Alberto Mejia, 30, of Zion, according to Zion police. A release stated that Mejia’s girlfriend said he “hit something” but has otherwise obstructed the investigation. Text messages in her phone indicate the pair may be trying to repair the vehicle used in the accident.

FORT WORTH — A Fort Worth officer’s decision to run the license-plate number of a Jeep he had observed swerve on Interstate 30 early Sunday morning led to the arrest of an Arlington man suspected of hitting a woman walking on the freeway’s shoulder, police officials said.

DELAND, Fla. – Wednesday marks seven months since 14-year-old Juliana Hobbs was killed by a hit and run driver on a narrow street without sidewalks in DeLand. Police on Tuesday finally arrested a suspect at her home.
Danielle Halverson, 50, is now charged in the death of Hobbs after being a person of interest for several months. The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) has been working on this case meticulously since March 17.
