Bond for Alejandro Garcia, 20, was set at $50,000 on a felony charge of failure to stop and render aid, stemming from the March 29, 2009, hit-and-run death of pedestrian Maurice DeVorn Jones, 34, League City police said in a statement released Wednesday.
Jones’ body was found on the east side of the road in the 1300 block of Dickinson Avenue. Police determined he was struck by an automobile that left the scene.
Police found the note in a ditch near Jones’ body and initially suspected a woman had penned it, based on the handwriting, authorities said.
