2906. Portland, Oreg. Aug. 15. 42-year-old man suffers minor injuries when struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
2907. Federal Way, Wash. Aug. 13. 14-year-old boy on skateboard injured when struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
2908. San Francisco, Cal. Aug. 15. 39-year-old man suffers life-threatening head injuries when struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
2909. Arlington, Texas. Aug. 15. Woman struck and killed by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
2910. Chesterfield, Va. Aug. 14. Pedestrian suffers non-life-threatening injuries when struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
2911. Mint Hill, NC. Aug. 16. 23-year-old man struck and killed by a stolen maroon Chevy Venture van which was found abandoned and burned.

MANCHESTER (NH) — A man accused of driving away without stopping after his vehicle struck a 5-year-old boy on a bicycle said he was nervous because: “I looked behind me and I saw a mob.”
Reginald Baudin, 42, of 214 Douglas St., made the statement at his arraignment Wednesday in 9th Circuit Court, Manchester District Division, on felony charges of conduct after an accident and habitual offender.

Branson police are still hoping for new information in the investigation into a hit and incident last month in which a pedestrian was seriously injured.
A man in his 20s was hit by a pickup truck just after 8 am July 27th while walking on a sidewalk across from Grand Country on Highway 76. Police say the man is continuing to recover from his injuries.

Police allege they found suspected tissue and hair on the driver’s-side axle, a suspected human hair sample from the driver’s side front wheel, a possible bone fragment on the driver’s-side step-up bar and suspected human hair under the driver’s-side door, according to the receipt.
Swabs were also taken for suspected DNA off the driver’s-side axle and the driver’s-side front bumper. Police also took a global positioning system unit from the truck.
Items collected from the truck were sent to the state police crime lab in Wyoming.
“I can say this is obviously a tragic case. I can’t imagine what this young lady’s family is going through,” said Loughnane’s attorney, Peter Paul Olszewski Jr. “For right now, everyone needs to reserve judgment. Let the system play itself out.”

Later that day, Stuart Sohovich saw news media reports that someone had struck and killed a pedestrian earlier that morning in Harwood.
Distraught, he went to the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Southern District station and told police he believed he hit the man.
The accident comes a little more than a year after Stuart’s older brother, Dan, was killed in a car crash while making a late night snack run.
“We are sick to death that someone has died,” Vera Sohovich said. “I don’t agree with (police) referring to him as a hit-and-run person … who calls the police when you think you hit a deer?”

After two weeks of searching by the Roswell Police Department, US Customs, US Border Patrol and concerned Southeastern New Mexico residents, Joel Cordoba-Lopez has been found and arrested.
Cordoba-Lopez was wanted for a hit-and-run accident on August 5, when he allegedly rear ended a 2007 Cadillac Escalade with his 2007 Sonata, causing it to flip and killing 30-year-old Mandy Miranda and her young son.

St. Louis County prosecutor Jessica Smith said police are investigating the possibility that Buehlman was using an inhalant at the time of the accident.
She also told Judge Sally Tarnowski that the victim, Ashen-Shugar-Aren Rhiannon-Orenda Diehl, 33, of Duluth is hospitalized in a medically induced coma.
She said Diehl’s spinal cord had been severed in the accident. The victim also suffered a bruised lung, a collapsed lung, broken ribs and possibly a broken leg.

Teri Klug says she was riding her bicycle in a charity ride to raise money for multiple sclerosis when she was seriously injured after a reckless rider caused her to crash. She says the rider left her unconscious on the trail.
Klug says she suffered serious injuries during the MS-150 charity bike ride in Cache County when she was cut off by another cyclist who crashed in front of her, causing her to fly off her bike. She landed, breaking her neck and collarbone.
