The child, Isaiah Justice, was in serious condition Wednesday at Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas, a hospital spokeswoman said. He suffered a head injury, lost some teeth and possibly has other internal injuries, according to an arrest warrant for the driver.
Charles Edwin Thurmond, 59, is charged with intoxication assault with a vehicle and causing an accident involving personal injury or death. Thurmond is self-employed and lives in the Dallas suburb of Highland Village, the arrest warrant said.
