So, the Pen and Pencil Club announced nominees for its Philadelphia News Awards, which “celebrate and recognize the best journalism that this city has to offer.”
Lo and behold, I somehow ended up nominated in the “Breaking News of the Year” category, which focuses on “unexpected, sudden general news, this person is well-sourced, quick and accurate enough to depend on.”
Thanks, nominators.
Anyway, I ain’t about to ask you to go and vote for me. Unless you think I deserve it or something. But if you’re at all familiar with the world of Philadelphia journalism, I AM going to ask you to go and vote in all 13 categories (giving full consideration to all of my NewsWorks/WHYY peers, because they deserve all that and then some, a’ight?).
