Unfortunately, I couldn’t make it up to Kensington on Tuesday night to pay respects to the family of Gregory Loper, who was killed by a scumbag, drug-addict driver from the burbs named Brett Truskin the other night. But if his family happens to see this, know that I’ll continue doing anything I can go get state officials to realize Pa.’s punishments for hit-and-runs are woefully inadequate.
From the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia:
Thank you to the dozens of people who came out in the rain last night to show support for Mr. Gregory Loper’s family. It was wet and cold, but comfort is not the purpose of such moments of solidarity and reflection. Two ways you can help the family through this difficult time:
• Send an e-mail to cyclingelves@gmail.com, and a volunteer will be in touch with you.
• Contact your State Senators about HB 208, which would close a loophole which encourages drunk drivers to flee the scene of an accident. (Follow the link to learn more about this absurd legal incentive.)

Is there an address we can send the family a donation?? I knew Brett very well when he was in high school, he was on the golf team with my son, and was such a well mannered good kid, can’t understand what happened to this kid!
