Timothy McCaughan, 58, was a father to three children, and grandfather to 2. On Friday night, he was killed while crossing Clifton Avenue in Collingdale, Delaware County (Pa.)
Luckily, there was a witness who told police the scumbag driver appeared to be driving a tan (or white) Chevy Suburban, according to media reports from DelCo.
His family told 6abc that they are — as could be expected in every last one of these hit-and-run cases — devastated.
“He would give his shirt to anybody off his back,” said Tim McCaughan, the victim’s son. “He would help anybody.”
Fifty-eight-year-old Timothy McCaughan used to make sure his elderly neighbors were fed on Thanksgiving. He doted on his grandchildren. He has two and a third is on the way.
“He’s going to so missed. He’s really going to be missed,” his wife Barbara told Action News. “It isn’t fair. Another good guy goes.”
Tim’s family is hoping the hit and run driver has a change of heart and comes forward. Or that someone will turn him in to police.
But there’s an aspect of this story that is especially infuriating. It seems as if the scumbag driver wasn’t content just to drive away after impact. Nope. What he did cements someone’s place in Hell.
The driver stopped, uttered a few curse words and then jumped back in the vehicle and drove off.
Translation: He hit someone with his SUV, got out and yelled at the victim and sped away like a little f’ing coward. Total POS.
