Longer answer: Somebody left the “word choice is an important part of news dissemination” manual over at 400 N. Broad St. To wit:
When Lawyerin’ Joe Amendola allowed Jerry Sandusky to talk to Bob Costas way back in a more innocent time, he copped to engaging in some “horseplay” with kids at Penn State.
When Philly.com whittled a story about “an Abington woman [who] claims the Phillie Phanatic turned into the Incredible Hulk at the Jersey Shore when he tossed her in a hotel pool” down to 140 characters today, they went with “Phillies Phanatic sued over alleged hotel pool horseplay.”
Easy to see why they’d have forgotten about Mister Jerry. I mean, he’s only leading their home page right now.
