On November 27, 2013, at 6:05 pm, two unknown males entered the Wild & Crazy Beauty Supply store located at 4326 North Broad Street with their hoods up and their faces covered armed with an AR15 style assault rifle.
Once inside one of the suspect points the rifle at the store employees demanding that they fill a dark colored bag with money from the cash registers while the second suspect stays near the front door acting as a lookout. After taking an undetermined amount of money both suspects fled on foot in an unknown direction.
They had video, too, the police did. Watch:
Pretty hardcore. Hardcorer than #walmartfights for sure.
Fast forward to 1:37 p.m. Friday. Just 64 minutes later, someone whose name I’ll redact emailed a long-ass thread of people with whom he/she shares musings akin to “Philly politicians suck. Vote for someone besides the machine.” Here’s what he/she had to say about said robbery:
This is what crime in this city is coming to. No problem brandishing an assault rifle on Broad Street at 6 pm.
Just keep on electing this same machine and it will soon be in Chestnut Hill.
It’s like the phillydotcomments grew sentient enough to email. Best I can translate said missive is as such: If you keep voting for predominantly black Democrats, hardcore thieves from Hunting Park will travel six miles to Philadelphia’s richest, whitest neighborhood and rob YOU with an assault rifle.
Or maybe it means that Wild & Crazy Beauty Supply store will expand its weave-based commerce into a neighborhood solely underserved in that area.
Who knows. But, consider yourselves warned.
