Evans police are trying to locate the author of a recently penned anonymous letter to help in their investigation of hit-and-run fatality from 28 years ago.
The letter was addressed to the Rev. Francis X. “Butch” Mazur following a story in The Buffalo News in February about the unsolved case of his sister, Susan T. Mazur, a teacher who was 34 when she was struck and killed Feb. 17, 1986, while walking on Delamater Road near her parents’ home.
The Catholic priest, who serves as a chaplain at Erie County Medical Center, said he received the letter around Easter, which was April 20, and forwarded it to Evans police.
“The letter came to the hospital with a description of a vehicle that was damaged and some other details,” Mazur said.

KETTERING — Two teens now facing charges after a hit-and-run accident in Kettering. The victim 62-year-old Ronald Justice is still being treated at Miami Valley Hospital.
This afternoon we caught up with the wife of Ronald Justice, Donna, as she was heading to the hospital. Her husband is still in intensive care with serious head and neck injuries but she says he’s doing better. “Three discs in his back were broken mainly in his neck,” said Donna Justice
Kettering police say Ronald was crossing Shroyer Road Thursday evening when a red Pontiac Grand Am hit him and kept driving. Although, the driver did not stop a witness did.
“People at the scene remained with him, great witnesses called 911 to report it right away,” said Ron Roberts. The Public Information Officer for Kettering Police.

Dallas police sources tell FOX 4 that a teenage girl without a driver’s license was arrested in connection to a Wednesday fatal hit-and-run crash. The crash happened in the middle of the intersection at Walnut Hill Lane and Brockbank Drive, resulting in the death of 27-year-old motorcyclist Kris Stroman.

DETROIT – Ice cream truck driver Michael Evans was in court Friday where he recalled the hit-and-run crash that fatally injured an 8-year-old girl in Detroit.
Police said Kamari Smith was standing at Evans’ ice cream truck at Robson Street and Eaton Avenue on May 19 when she was hit. She had just purchased ice cream from the truck.
“The only thing I could see was when little Kamari landed on the hood of the car. The car just slowed down a little bit and took off,” said Evans.

Charges have been filed against the suspect in a hit-and-run that killed famous inventor Jack McClung in Oklahoma City.
According to police, McClung, 79, was walking back home from getting groceries when he was hit by a car, and killed. McClung made millions off “Blue Stuff” selling it online and through infomercials.
Police arrested 21-year-old Wilfredo L. Gomez in the case.

Lawrence police have identified the woman injured in a Saturday morning hit-and-run accident as 35-year-old Lawrence resident Margie Wilson.
Sgt. David Hogue, a Lawrence police spokesman, said Wilson was sleeping in her vehicle at the parking lot of the Lawrence Community Building, 115 W. 11th St., when another vehicle struck hers around 3:50 a.m. Saturday.
“It’s my understanding that she’s living in her vehicle,” Hogue said of the victim.
