5033. Duluth, Minn. April 10. 27-year-old man on skateboard mildly injured when struck by a blue F-150 truck which fled the scene.
5034. Rockland, Ill. April 15. Woman injured when struck by a Dodge Charger which fled the scene.
5035. Los Angeles, Cal. April 3. 53-year-old woman fatally struck by a dark-colored Chevy Equinox which fled the scene.
5036. Kihei, Hawaii. April 15. 51-year-old woman fatally struck by a bronze or khaki 2012-14 Toyota Tacoma which fled the scene.

The BPD was called on Monday to investigate the scene at the corner of East Truxtun Avenue and Miller Street, where they found a 90-year-old man with major injuries who is said to have been riding a motorcycle eastbound on E. Truxtun Avenue.

DENVER – A woman accused of intentionally hitting an Aurora man with her car, pinning him against a Red Box kiosk and breaking his leg, has been formally charged with a hate crime.
Police arrested Fanya Juwan Weatherspoon, 40, late last week. She is being held at the Denver Jail on $50,000 bond.
“I was happy that they caught her,” said Alejandro Lopez. “She’s going to have to pay for what she did.”

One night last April, Skylar Marion and two friends set out in the dark, down Pasadena’s Mountain Road to a nearby convenience store. It started as a trip for snacks on a Friday night, innocent teenage fun for a boy known to be sweet to his female friends.
“What’s every 15-year-old’s dream?” says Skylar’s father, Michael Marion. “Walking down the road with two girls, arm in arm.”
The dream turned into a nightmare for Skylar’s family, a nightmare that has reverberated through the close-knit Pasadena community. Two-tenths of a mile shy of the convenience store, a Ford Expedition struck Skylar, throwing him into one of the girls.
The Expedition never stopped, leaving behind two wounded teens. The third raced back to Skylar’s house for help.
The injured girl eventually recovered from her injuries. Skylar, a Chesapeake High School freshman who loved hot rods and riding bikes, died at Maryland Shock Trauma Center three days after the April 12, 2013, incident.

Cortez is accused of striking a 90-year-old man on a motorcycle. Witnesses stated that the driver of van failed to stop at a stop sign on Miller Street near Truxtun Avenue before striking the victim Monday.

SARASOTA, Fla. – A Sarasota man was arrested early Wednesday after police say he fatally struck a pedestrian on the sidewalk and attempted to keep driving.

“I hit him,” Inostroza said in the video, which was played Wednesday in open court during the defendant’s Arthur hearing, where he asked for bond to get out of jail.

It’s been two months since Steve Acquaviva was hit in East Garden City by a pickup, whose driver covered him with a blanket before taking off at the sound of police sirens.
Unable to remember what happened, the victim Wednesday released a surveillance video recording of the Feb. 12 accident, hoping someone will come forward about the driver.

Two men are facing criminal charges following a hit-and-run accident where the impact send the body of a bicyclist into the bed of the suspect’s pickup truck.
Edinburg police told Action 4 News 38-year-old Eduardo Arguelles and another cyclist were riding along U.S. Highway 281 and Trenton Avenue when Arguelles was hit by a pickup truck.
Details about the accident were not immediately available but investigators said the Arguelles was killed in the accident and that the impact sent his body directly into the bed of the pickup truck.
The other cyclist called 911 but the driver and passenger fled the scene in the truck with the body in the back of the pickup truck.

When police arrived, they made contact with the victim, who told them she was six months pregnant. She was on the ground being treated by Lower Providence EMS for injuries suffered when she was struck by a vehicle. The victim complained of hip and stomach pain and was transported to Paoli hospital. The unborn child was unharmed.
