Listen, I want this Jeremy Lin kid to succeed. Truly, I do. But it’s getting damn near impossible to do so in the face of the incessant harping about Linsanity driven by the fact that 1) he’s Asian 2) he plays in NYC and 3) he had a few remarkably entertaining starts at the beginning of his pro career.
Reality: Those remarkably entertaining starts would not have come to pass in a non-lockout-shortened season.
Reality: Shooting 1-11 from the field with 8 points and 8 turnovers, while logging a -19, in a 14-point loss to the Miami Heat does NOT translate into “Knicks star still hot.”
This is the direct result of the overhyping which results from having a morning-show derp face weigh in on a story about which derp face has little clue.
