An ongoing collection of unsolved hit-and-run cases, with a focus on car/pedestrian incidents, from across the country since Jan. ‘010. If you know something about any of these incidents, or one that I’ve missed, do the right thing and call the police, even anonymously.

496. Pittsfield Twp., Mich. June 7. 13-year-old boy injured after being struck by a white SUV which fled the scene without rendering aid. “The driver, described as black and in his 20s, got out of the car, looked at the boy, got back into the car and drove off. … Witnesses told police the vehicle had a license plate number similar to BWH9091.”

497. Troy, Ala. June 7. 55-year-old man riding a bicycle injured when struck by a car with “a body style similar to a Ford Taurus and was green with tinted windows” which fled.

498. Bridgeport, Ct. June 7. 54-year-old woman knocked from her motorized wheelchair after being struck by a white vehicle purportedly driven by a man who later “called a medical emergency line to report the crash, giving his name to the dispatcher and saying ‘he struck someone with his vehicle, but that he did not stop because he was worried about being sued,’ according to a police report.”

499. Iowa City, Iowa. June 6. Another woman in a motorized wheelchair injured after being struck, while preparing to get into a modified van. “The driver is described as a heavy set, black female with short hair, wearing a purple shirt and accompanied by two children. The vehicle is described as being a red car and might have had four doors.”

500. Norfolk, Va. June 6. Legally-blind 52-year-old man struck, seriously injured and left for dead by a yet-unidentified vehicle.

501. Newport, Pa. June 7. 48-year-old man struck by a “a light blue, late 1980s or early 1990s model Monte Carlo” which fled the scene.

502. Dumfries, Va. June 6. 36-year-old man whose car was disabled on a highway on-ramp struck and injured by a semi which failed to stop at the scene. Victim airlifted to the hospital.
