A Doylestown Township man with a long history of traffic crimes was sentenced this week for a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a motorcycle rider. Charles D. Batson, 51, of Winterberry Drive, pleaded guilty before Bucks County Judge Albert Cepparulo in Doylestown to leaving the scene of an accident and related offenses. He was sentenced to nine to 23 months in the county prison, plus five years of probation, and fined $200.

A few weeks before Sheldene Campbell was arrested in a fatal hit-and-run rampage, her lawyer said Monday, police found her on the Garden State Parkway ranting that her father was the devil.
Her behavior that day in 2008 was part of an insanity defense at the opening of Campbell’s trial on murder and assault charges in Westchester County Court.
