1824. La Mesa, Cal. Aug. 25. 2-year-old boy suffers non-life-threatening injuries when struck by a white Volkswagen Passat wagon which fled the scene.
1825. Chelsea, Mass. Aug. 28. 39-year-old man struck and killed by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
1826. San Diego, Cal. Aug. 26. “Two mechanics who work at nearby Ozzie’s Auto Repair told me they saw the whole thing go down as they worked on an engine; they agreed that ‘Two inebriated men were riding skateboards and throwing gang signs near the bank, when one of them was hit by a dark car that then sped off’ into south Ocean Beach.”
1827. St. Cloud, Minn. Aug. 28. 15-year-old boy who was trying to outrun a vehicle as he crossed a street struck by a green four-door car which didn’t stop.
1828. Van Nuys, Cal. Aug. 28. Pedestrian suffers massive head and other injuries and dies after being struck by a white sedan which fled the scene.
1829. Gastonia, NC. Aug. 28. 54-year-old woman struck and killed by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
1830. Lagrange, Ga. Aug. 26. Man on a motor scooter struck and killed by a white 2002 or 2003 Buick Rendevous which fled the scene.
1831. Sylvester, Ga. Aug. 29. Woman struck and injured by a large white van which fled the scene.
1832. Two Rivers, Minn. Aug. 28. 32-year-old man injured when struck by an older-model brown minivan that drove off.

Before lying down in the 1800 block of El Camino Real, Perez told an acquaintance at the scene — someone he had not seen in a while — about his plan to kill himself, Stasiak said. Apparently, he had made similar comments in the past and the acquaintance didn’t take him seriously.
The collision happened after 9 p.m. but that stretch of El Camino is well-lit, Stasiak said. It runs through a business district, which has a Holiday Inn Express, a 99-cent store and a pizza parlor. The speed limit is 35 mph and a median separates northbound and southbound traffic
Police believe that Perez was struck by a silver, possibly four-door sedan in a southbound lane. The case is not being treated as a suicide, but as a felony hit-and-run, Stasiak said.

A third teenager hit by a vehicle this week in Clayton County died Saturday morning, his family confirmed. Clayton County Police Dept. Priscilla Johnson, 48, of Lithonia faces a number of charges in connection with the deaths of two teens and the injury of another.
Timothy Aaron, 17, suffered a serious brain injury after the Thursday incident and was taken off life support, his father, Eric Aaron of Stockbridge, told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He was pronounced dead at 10 a.m. at Grady Memorial Hospital, the father said.

White “ghost bikes” have been attached to two Midtown street poles in memory of Chris Davidson, the cycling enthusiast killed in a hit-and-run this month.
One white-painted bike is placed at a utility pole in front of the Hi-Tone Café, where Davidson, 37, was at about midnight Aug. 11, when he headed home. The other is secured to a pole outside the French Quarter Inn at Madison and Cooper, where Davidson told his girlfriend he was hit by a car full of men that night.
The girlfriend, Carrie Dodge, told Davidson’s family that after he was hit, he pedaled to her home about a mile away and died in her arms an hour or so later. The family also said Davidson asked Dodge not to call police.

Glenn Doneghy was sentenced Friday to 20 years in prison on second-degree manslaughter and other charges stemming from the hit-and-run death last year of Lexington police officer Bryan J. Durman.
Fayette Circuit Judge James Ishmael, using words like “regrettably” and “disgustingly,” explained to a packed courtroom that he could not follow a jury’s recommendation that Doneghy serve 30 years because 20 years was the maximum prison time Doneghy could get under Kentucky law.

Home Depot employees, led by a long-time local contractor Paul Butterfield of the North Auburn store, are putting in a wheelchair-access ramp at Ward’s house and working on hallways to make them more accessible. Barnes was paralyzed in the accident and will have to use a wheelchair.

Joe Frazier, a former Cal State Northridge and Pasadena Muir basketball player who has been an assistant coach at Calabasas, is in a coma at Northridge Hospital Medical Center after suffering a head injury when he was involved in a hit-and-run accident while riding his motorcyle Thursday night, Calabasas Coach Jon Palarz said.

Brandon Sipp braked his Dodge Ram pickup when he saw several cars stopped and heard a woman screaming, “He’s still in there!”
And I quote (IX) …
“There was a thunder crack and the truck was sent sideways. Our dog was with us and was slammed into the windshield,” Daniel Morman said. “I didn’t know what to think. I was worried about the person who hit us.”
Morman, concerned about the driver who rear-ended them, exited the vehicle to walk across the highway to assist — only for the driver of the other car to speed off.

Andrews is charged as a fourth-offense habitual offender, according to court documents. Under Michigan law, that means he could face up to life in prison if he’s convicted of the manslaughter charge.
Two Gladwin County residents, Theodore Francis Fackler, 69, and Barbara Olive Fackler, 67, died in the crash.

A driver accused of hitting and killing a bicyclist and then fleeing the scene denied the charges at a Monday arraignment.
Adam Carl Garrett, 19, of Huntington Beach pleaded not guilty at his arraignment to one felony count of hit-and-run causing death and one misdemeanor count of vehicular manslaughter without gross negligence, according to online court records.

A 74-year-old New Hanover woman charged in connection with an alleged hit-and-run crash that killed a 26-year-old female pedestrian has reconsidered a previous request to have her driving privileges restored while she awaits trial.
Patricia Maurer, of New Hanover Square Road, through her lawyer, filed papers in Montgomery County Court indicating she is withdrawing her previous request to modify her bail conditions to allow her to operate a motor vehicle.

On Sunday, close friends and family members refreshed a memorial that marked where Rutherford died a year ago. The victim’s mother, Kelly Rutherford, took the time to place fresh flowers and new vases on the memorial that has been struck several times by vandals.

This may not be the ideal place to ask, however, I have to find someone for car window repair. I’ve been looking and found Arthur’s Expert Auto Glass 802 N 8th ST Sheboygan WI 53081 (920)569-0839. Any opinions on this place? I live quite close to them. I don’t want to mess up finding a decent shop for my car window repair.
