1820. Glen Burnie, Md. Aug. 24. 38-year-old tow-truck driver assisting a broken-down vehicle struck and killed by an older model red Nissan sport utility vehicle with silver trim and damage to the front passenger side and headlamp which fled the scene. (Thanks Janene N.)

1821. Eugene, Ore. Aug. 24. Bicyclist struck and killed by a Toyota Supra Style which drove by and ran over the victim and didn’t stop. “It doesn’t matter if I knew him or not, to run over someone and not stop, that’s unacceptable,” said Jorge Murillo, Employed Muren.

1822. Honolulu. Aug. 24. 50-year-old man who was run over by a van may have been hit by another vehicle that fled the scene.

1823. Arbutus, Md. Aug. 24. 14-year-old girl hurt when struck by a green GMC SUV which fled the scene.

A Washington Township police officer was behind the wheel of a hit-and-run vehicle Friday night that critically injured a 27-year-old Sicklerville man.

The female officer has not been identified as no charges have been filed. According to Winslow police, victim Vance Banks was found lying in a parking lot in the 500 block of Sicklerville Road about 1:10 a.m.

So, now a police officer can just say she thinks she was involved in an accident? Yeah, that’s the type of person I want protecting my community. She should be ashamed of herself. So should those within the department who will knee-jerkingly support her despite their pledge to protect and serve.

VANCOUVER, Wash. – Prosecutors said in court on Tuesday that a man accused of fleeing a deadly accident scene circled back around just long enough for his dying friend to see him not stop. Russell H. Amon, 29, faces a felony hit-and-run charge stemming from an incident on Saturday where police said 34-year-old Jose Gonzalez-Ramirez fell out of the back of his convertible and died.

A pair of wrestling sisters put the moves on a fleeing hit-and-run suspect – and scored a quick takedown.

Brittany and Brienna Delgado kept the driver in their custody until police arrived on the scene in Oklahoma City last weekend, according to The Oklahoman.

“We do several moves where you stop your opponents,” said Brittany, 21, a senior starter on the women’s wrestling team at Oklahoma City University.

A hit-and-run driver struck a pedestrian in what authorities described as a road rage incident in Lake Ronkonkoma over the weekend, Suffolk County police said.

CHESTERTON | A woman who had taken bath salts was involved in a hit-and-run accident, hit a large landscape boulder at the Dunes State Park, and rammed several police cars as they tried to keep her from running into people at the park, police said.

Colorado Springs, Col. Aug. 23. 83-year-old woman was walking with her husband in a shopping-center parking garage struck and killed by a white SUV which fled the scene.
UPDATED: COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) – A Colorado Springs man says a driverless SUV rolled into his wife and fatally injured her in a shopping mall parking lot.

On Friday, Aug. 5, Good Day Utah anchor Kerri Cronk was riding her bike on Wasatch Drive behind Hogle Zoo when a car pulled out in front of her. Cronk tried to avoid, but collided with the car. She suffered extensive injuries, including a broken neck and a dislocated shoulder.
Kerri is on the mend and says she will recover from her injuries, but she says the emotional scars still run deep. She says she can’t understand why anyone could leave someone in the middle of the road not knowing if they dead or alive.

Police say one patron was intoxicated and attempting to drive home. She then hit her daughter, who was trying to stop her, with the vehicle. Then the driver hit another vehicle in the parking lot before driving away.

RACINE – Police are seeking help from residents in finding the driver of a sport-utility vehicle that struck and critically injured a 28-year-old motorcyclist Sunday night. Meanwhile, the family of the victim, Adam Carpino of Racine, has started an online fundraising campaign in hopes that good Samaritans will help with his medical bills.

Torrington resident Joshua Cohen is appealing to the public for help.

Cohen was with his service dog, Samantha, late August 8 when she was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on East Main Street.

The 5-year-old, 110-pound German shepherd was struck at about 9 p.m. in the area of 118 East Main St., thrown down the road, and, tragically, out of Cohen’s life.

“It was such a horrible loss, she meant the world to me,” Cohen said Wednesday. “I still wake up and have to look outside at the spot where she was hit.”
