1810. Oshkosh, Wisc. Aug. 18. 22-year-old woman injured when older black vehicle struck and threw her from her bicycle before fleeing.
1811. Cool, Texas. Aug. 17. 46-year-old woman out walking her dog struck and injured by an unidentified vehicle which left her in the street.
1812. Kewanee, Ill. Aug. 18. 11-year-old boy airlifted to the hospital after being struck by a tan vehicle which fled the scene.
1813. Grand Rapids, Mich. Aug. 19. 19-year-old man injured when struck by a dark colored SUV that fled.
1814. San Francisco. Aug. 20. 5-year-old boy injured when struck by a dark green late ’80’s hatchback that “sped away, to the shock of onlookers.”
1815. Richmond, Cal. Aug. 20. 38-year-old man fatally struck at least once by a vehicle which fled. No description of the vehicle or a suspect has been released by investigators, but they encouraged the driver to surrender.
1816. Sicklerville, NJ. Aug. 19. 27-year-old man in medically induced coma after being struck by a red 2003-2007, two door Honda Accord. “An anonymous caller called in and said there was a man in the street and just left him there,” said Vance’s sister Tiffany Wilmer. “I know the fear factor and I know how the individual probably feels,” said Vance’s relative Archie Wilmer. “We have a feeling that they’re probably the one who made the call but that call is not enough.”
(UPDATE: A South Jersey man sits in intensive care while the hit and run driver who cops say hit him is free. The driver went to police and it turns out she’s one of them.)
1817. Tulsa, Okla. Aug. 20. 12-year-old boy suffered serious injuries when struck, while riding a bike, by a late-model green or yellow pickup which fled the scene.
1818. Marietta, Ga. Aug. 20. 31-year-old man on motorcycle struck and killed by a silver, late-model Porsche which fled the scene.
1819. Houston. Aug. 21. 52-year-old man struck and killed by an unidentified vehicle which fled.

Police say the suspect in a fatal hit-and-run crash that took the life of 4-year-old Santa Rosa boy was cited for driving without a license less than a week before he plowed through a West Ninth Street crosswalk Thursday night and killed the youngster.

Raper called 911 just after the collision “to say that he that thought he had struck someone,” said Atlanta Police Spokesman Officer John Chafee. “That person provided their phone number but no other information, and then did not return to the scene.”
Chafee said that Raper was telling police a different story when they arrested him on Friday, saying that the driver in front of him hit Cox.
“But with the piece of evidence of him phoning in that call to 911, and saying that he thought he had struck that person, that’s a key piece of evidence in this case,” Chafee said. “And then also there was a witness that was behind the suspect that confirmed that this person indeed did strike that pedestrian.”

Why Christina Guzman was on the side of the highway and who hit her are unknown. Stephanie Guzman spoke to one of the people her sister was with that night who said some sort of argument occurred in the car on the way back to Stockton.
California Highway Patrol officer J.B. Peregoy said investigators still are following up on leads. He couldn’t confirm or deny any information about the events that led up to Guzman’s death.

MORGANTON — The man who police say confessed to the Monday evening hit-and-run that sent a cyclist to intensive care initially tried to cover his tracks, authorities said.
When troopers first came to 1677 Robin Hood Drive on a tip from a concerned neighbor, 47-year-old Tracy Johnson mislead them, court documents say, about what happened, and the investigating trooper believes Johnson tried to wash away evidence from the car used in the wreck.

The white teenager who is being accused of murdering a black man is being held in isolation at a facility in Hinds County near Jackson, Mississippi without bond. Deryl Dedmon, 19, allegedly intentionally ran over James Craig Anderson, 49, on June 26 in a hate crime incident in the parking lot of the Metro Inn.
