1698-99. Dallas. July 13. 38-year-old mother of two killed and 34-year-old husband critically injured when their vehicle was struck by a white or silver pickup truck which “didn’t even slow down and slammed into the couple’s Mitsubishi” at an intersection.
1700. Milledgeville, Ga. July 12. 35-year-old man struck and killed by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene. Link to video here.
1701-02. Anne Arundel County, Md. July 13. In separate incidents, two bicyclists suffer life-threatening injuries. 41-year-old man struck by a possibly a gray Chevrolet or Saturn sedan which fled. Twenty minutes later, 25-year-old man struck by a sedan, possibly a Hyundai. Police said a woman driving the car stopped, got out briefly and got back in her car and fled the scene.
1703. Emeryville, Cal. July 12. 22-year-old woman suffers severe injuries that could leave her permanently disabled when struck by a dark colored, mid-size SUV which fled the scene.
1704. Chico, Fla. July 11. 25-year-old man injuried when struck by a white sedan which fled the scene.
1705. Fort Worth, Texas. July 11. 70-year-old man struck and killed by an unknown vehicle which fled the scene.
1706. Palm Springs, Cal. July 15. 2-year-old girl injured when struck by a white newer model Saturn with tinted windows. “Police also said the car appeared to slow down for a bit but then continued on.”
1707. Attleboro, Mass. July 15. 20-year-old man on bicycle suffers minor injuries when struck by a black car which fled.
1708. Cleveland. July 14. 3-year-old boy hospitalized after being struck by a blue Dodge Caravan that fled the scene.
1709. Burlington Twp., NJ. July 14. Woman suffers broken leg when struck by an unidentified car which fled the scene.
1710. Stamford, Ct. July 16. 24-year-old man on a bicycle suffers serious head injury when struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
1711. Los Angeles. July 16. 52-year-old man killed when struck by a white or light-colored Dodge Durango or a Toyota Tacoma which fled the scene.
1712. Grand Forks, ND. July 15. 22-year-old man on scooter injured when struck by a white, four-door car which fled.
1713. Cayce, SC. July 16. 47-year-old man struck and killed by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene.

WASHINGTON PARK — The 52-year-old woman who police say ran over four people said she was beaten up by a female relative of one of the hit-and-run victims Saturday. The beating suspect has not been arrested and that has Gilda Diane Lott’s family boiling.

A longtime volunteer in the Central County United Way senior companion program was killed by a hit-and-run driver as she walked along Acacia Avenue near Thompson Street about 5 p.m. July 6.
Ervina Keller, 78, was pronounced dead within minutes of being struck by a van, which fled the scene, according to a Riverside County coroner’s report.

RICHARDSON, Texas – Richardson police have returned to the scene where a 12-year-old boy riding a go-kart was seriously hurt by a hit-and-run driver. Witnesses said a woman who was holding a little white dog while driving an SUV made a bad turn. She jumped the curb and struck the boy on the sidewalk. Then she left the scene.
The boy’s friend was able to provide police with a license plate number for the SUV. Police also searched the neighborhood and found an SUV matching witness descriptions. They’ve questioned the owner but have not yet made an arrest.
“We are pretty sure this is the vehicle we are looking for. I can’t tell you for 100 percent certainty that’s the case, but we certainly we believe we have enough to obtain a warrant for it and to take a further look at that vehicle,” said Sgt. Kevin Perlinch.

The witness saw the Cadillac traveling westbound through the parking lot when she observed it being “gunned,” accelerated rapidly, police said. The witness said she thought the driver was trying to beat the northbound traffic approaching the driveway at the time of the collision.
Afterwards, the Cadillac drove northbound on Broadway without stopping to help, police said.
Police said the officer interviewed the victim who said after the Cadillac struck her the driver rolled down the window and said, “Oops, my bad” before leaving the scene.

A pedestrian who was critically injured on June 22 by a hit and run driver on Buchanan Street near 11th Avenue North died this morning from his injuries, Metro Police said. Convicted felon Tory Carter, 28, had just driven off from a traffic stop for not having his headlights on in bad weather when he hit Kenneth Jones, 55, who was on the sidewalk, police said. Carter abandoned the car and fled on foot, but was arrested a short time later.

Santokh and Harjinder Bains stood up in B.C. Provincial Court in Surrey Thursday and said they were sorry for lying to police about the theft of their minivan. That van was used in a hit-and-run that killed 41-year-old Alex Heibein on June 2, 2007.
Outside court Heibein’s wife, April, said she didn’t accept what the couple had to say.
“Their apology would have been more believable 24, 72 hours, a week after the accident. Not four years. We’ve lived in pain for four years,” April said.

An Austin woman who allegedly fled after hitting a 17-month-old boy with her car pleaded not guilty to two criminal charges Thursday in Mower County District Court.
Tiffany Ariel Hatfield, 25, pleaded not guilty to careless driving and failing to stop at a personal injury accident.

ORLANDO, Fla. — A man who troopers said ran down and killed a local teen in 2010 was arrested Thursday.
The Florida Highway Patrol said Eric Wydra, 30, is accused of leaving the scene in Orange County after hitting brothers Anthony and Miguel Rodriguez in November. Anthony Rodriguez, 15, was killed, and the crash left his older brother bloodied, bruised and forever changed.
Wydra said someone stole his car and that he didn’t do it, police said. Investigators said they only arrested Wydra on Thursday because they’ve been building their case against him.

Anchorage PD received a call at about 10:46 p.m. from 38-year-old Phongnivath Samountry, who told dispatchers that a blue Chevy Blazer struck his Honda Civic in the area of Arctic and Benson Boulevards, then sped away southbound on Arctic. About one minute later, police dispatch received a call from another driver who told them that a blue Chevy Blazer crashed near Arctic and West Dowling Road.

West Virginia State Police have impounded a vehicle that possibly was involved in a hit-and-run accident that led to the death of 38-year-old Candy Mallory early Saturday, according to Wayne County Prosecutor Tom Plymale.
A vehicle was impounded between 10:30 and 11 p.m. Thursday after police received a tip by phone, he said. The vehicle matches the description of 1995 to 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier with front end damage and a West Virginia license plate, he said.
Police have taken a statement from a male person of interest, but no arrests have been made, he said.

Riley Ward, a 16-year-old Crockett County High School student injured in an April hit-and-run, says he hopes the accused driver, 18-year-old Dyersburg High School student Christopher Adam Purvis, gets jail time. Purvis is scheduled to appear before a grand jury at 1 p.m. Aug. 15.
“I didn’t think I was going to walk again because they had me in a wheelchair,” Ward said.
