1513. Rock Hill, SC. April 26. 17-year-old female remembers flipping and spinning around before losing consciousness when red car hit her and fled; suffers moderate injuries.
1514. Brick, NJ. April 28. 15-year-old boy walking with a friend struck and injured by an unidentified vehicle.
1515. Omaha, Neb. April 30. 41-year-old man sleeping in a parking lot dies after being struck by a dark-colored, full-sized SUV which took off.
1516. Waterbury, Ct. April 29. 30-year-old man on bicycle suffers critical head injuries after being struck by a dark red or maroon Ford or Chevy pickup truck which fled the scene.

A group of Austin cyclists took it upon themselves to honor a fellow rider left to die in the road this weekend two days after he died when he was struck by a hit and run driver.
“It’s heartbreaking because it won’t be the last time,” predicted Azgad Crisostomo, an Austin cyclist who, along with another cyclist, put up a ghost bike in the 3500 block of South Lamar, the same area where an Austin cyclist was killed on Saturday.

A mandatory one year sentence is abolished if prosecutors secure a conviction against Megan Panowicz, charged with leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in a pedestrian’s death in Kingston more than two years ago.
Centre County Senior Judge Carson Brown presiding in Luzerne County Court issued a ruling Tuesday lowering the criminal offense against Panowicz, 25, from a third degree felony to a first degree misdemeanor.

MILWAUKIE — A Riley man is set to be charged today with hitting a bicyclist with his van Tuesday, then driving off.
Officer Ulli Neitch, Milwaukie police spokeswoman, said witnesses told officers they saw an older gray Oldsmobile minivan traveling east on Southeast King Road near 55th Avenue at 3:06 p.m. and hit a bicyclist. The bicyclist was knocked over the van’s windshield up onto the roof, then landed hard on the sidewalk. Witnesses said the van then jumped the sidewalk and hit several mailboxes before returning to the roadway and driving off.

SANTA ANA – Calling it one of the most egregious cases he’s seen, an Orange County prosecutor filed a charge of felony drunken driving and hit-and-run against a Long Beach Fire Department captain Wednesday and issued a $250,000 warrant for the man’s arrest.

“How does she have a right to be bonded out?” said Limon, who was in tears. “When you do something wrong, you have to pay the price.”

A Gastonia woman was charged with assault Thursday for the third time in two years. This time she used her car to run over a man, according to arrest warrants. Dina Carter, 34, of Glenn Street, struck the man with her 2010 Hyundai Elantra while driving in reverse, then left the scene, warrants state.
