1371. Clarksville, Tenn. March 4. 23-year-old man on bicycle critically injured when struck by a full sized extended cab white pickup truck which did not stop.
1372. Dallas, Texas. March 3. 42-year-old woman killed when, while walking with her daughter, struck by a white two-door 2002 Dodge Stratus that carried her some 60 feet where she rolled off the hood and hit her head on the pavement, before fleeing the scene.
1373. Bakersfield, Cal. March 3. 64-year-old man killed when struck by a white Jeep which fled the scene.
1374. Williston, Vt. March 4. Man struck and injured by a vehicle which fled the scene.
1375. Colorado Springs, Colo. March 3. Man injured when struck by a gold or silver sedan which fled the scene.
1376. Pokomoke City, Md. March 5. 71-year-old disabled Vietnam War veteran walking his dog struck and injured by a black SUV. The force of the impact knocked Hudson from his wheelchair and killed his dog, according to police. After the accident, several individuals helped Hudson back to his wheelchair and placed the dead dog into his lap.

1377. Iowa City, Iowa. March 4. 21-year-old man suffers non-life-threatening injuries when struck by a silver-colored SUV which fled the scene.
1378. Gainesville, Fla. March 3. 75-year-old woman suffers minor cuts when hit by a white Kia SUV which fled the scene.
1379. Boulder, Colo. March 6. Pedestrian struck and killed by a dark-colored Rav 4 or Nissan Xterra-type vehicle which fled the scene. (UPDATE)
1380. Los Angeles. March 6. Pedestrian struck and killed by an unknown vehicle which fled.
1381. Boston. March 6. Man struck and injured by a small black car which fled the scene.
1382. Thomasville, NC. March 7. 25-year-old man injured after being struck by a light four-door sedan which fled.

Kaitlin Smith Slater, 23, of 505 Caswell Kern Road in Kernersville, turned herself in to police in connection with the hit-and-run that caused the death of Trevor Spencer Prough, 18, of 232 Rockford St. in Clemmons, police said in a news release.

During the three-day trial, witnesses testified that Lane left the Chattanooga Billiard Club at about 7 a.m. Dec. 23, 2009. As he drove toward the North Shore, he struck Susan Wood at the intersection of Walnut and Fourth streets as she was walking to work at Unum, according to testimony. Wood, a 42-year-old mother of two, died later that day.
Police said Lane never hit his brakes or swerved but instead kept driving.
Witnesses testified they thought Lane had been drinking. One co-worker said she’d smoked marijuana with Lane hours before the fatal collision. Another said she was talking on a cell phone with Lane when he said, “Oh my God, I think I just hit someone.”

As a woman fought for her life at a San Francisco hospital, police were on the hunt for a reckless driver whose car plowed into her before fleeing on Market Street. The woman suffered a brain injury and remained unconscious a week after the horrific collision at the busy intersection of Market and O’Farrell streets on Feb. 25.

An Ocean County grand jury indicted a Jackson Township man Wednesday in connection with a hit-and-run accident that killed an off-duty Harvey Cedars police officer.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A 13-year-old girl is at Methodist Hospital in critical condition after she was hit by a hit and run driver around 11:30 Friday night. The girl was with a group of friend near Thompson and Franklin on the city’s southeast side playing ‘chicken’, according to investigators.

The family of a Wea Ridge Middle School student who was killed on Sunday by a hit-and-run driver on Lafayette’s south end is not pleased that the suspect (PICTURED) faces merely two to eight years in prison.

Jennifer Turin said she took her German Shepherd, Holly, with her to their neighborhood Ace Hardware store in Olympia. While Turin walked through the parking lot with Holly on a leash, a speeding car nearly hit her. “I jumped back and let go of the leash,” Turin said.
The car hit Holly and sent her flying in the air. As the car sped off, Turin couldn’t find her dog. The leash became entangled beneath the car.

CORPUS CHRISTI — Corpus Christi police received tips on the identity of two women wanted in a hit and run that killed Luis Trevino.

A young man is in a coma because a crazed cabby wanted to save $30, prosecutors say.
Hit-and-run taxi driver Mohammed Azam ran over passenger Anthony Loreto Jr. outside a Midtown police station after refusing to take him and his pals to The Bronx because the trip would have cost the hack $30, the Manhattan DA said yesterday.

GRANDVIEW, Mo. — Since last year, Grandview police have been working to find the driver who hit and killed 4-year-old Taylor Wilson in the street and then took off. Now, Grandview police said they got word about their case they didn’t expect to hear.
Grandview police said the prosecutor’s office kicked back the case of a fatal hit-and-run accident on insufficient evidence, and said this means the case may never see a criminal courtroom.
