1190. Marina del Rey, Cal. Dec. 29. 48-year-old woman (pictured) struck and killed by a dark colored sedan which fled the scene.
1191. Orland Park, Ill. Dec. 29. Female pedestrian hit by a 1997 or 1998 Dodge Dakota pickup, thrown up onto the windshield and severely injured.
1192. Hermantown, Minn. Dec. 30. 84-year-old man trying to get a newspaper from a roadside box struck and killed by an undescribed vehicle which fled the scene.
1193. Arlington, Va. Dec. 30. Woman near a subway station struck by an undescribed vehicle which fled the scene, suffers non-life-threatening injuries.
1194. Schenectady, NY. Dec. 29. 25-year-old man hospitalized after being struck by an undescribed vehicle which fled.
1195. Tupelo, Miss. Dec. 31. 58-year-old man on bicycle suffers minor injuries after being struck by a black sport-utility vehicle.
1196. Upper Darby, Pa. Dec. 30. Man on bicycle struck and killed by vehicle, the driver of which was found shortly thereafter. Side note: Having spoken with Upper Darby police superintendent Michael Chitwood often, and in-depth, about hit-and-runs in the area, I’m not surprised this person was snatched quickly.
1197. St. Louis, Mo. Dec. 30. Unidentified woman struck and killed by a dark-colored truck or SUV which took off and left her to die in the street.
1198. Huntsville, Ala. Dec. 31. 32-year-old pedestrian struck and killed by an undescribed vehicle.
1199. Jackson Twp., Ohio. Dec. 31. 55-year-old man walking dog fatally struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
1200. Huntsville, Ala. Dec. 31. 33-year-old man struck and killed by an unidentified vehicle.
1201. Syracuse, NY. Jan. 1. 35-year-old woman injured after being struck by a taxi that took off.
1202. Scranton, Pa. Jan. 1. 11-year-old boy suffers non-life-threatening injuries when struck by a black Ford pick-up truck, possibly an F-250 or F-350 with a dual stack, dual axel and lights across the top. Anyone who has seen the truck should call Scranton Police at (570) 348-4134.
1203. Seattle, Wash. Jan. 1. Woman injured when struck by a yet-identified vehicle that fled.
1204. Wayne, Mich. Jan 1. Man in his 40s fatally struck by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene.
1205. Cedarhurst, NY. Jan 1. Two 21-year-old men hospitalized after being struck by an unknown vehicle which fled the scene.
1206. Chicago. Jan 1. 21-year-old man killed when struck by a green car with possible damage to the headlights, front and right side.
1207. Spokane Valley, Wash. Jan 1. 18-year-old suffers serious injuries when struck by a 1996 1-ton Dodge pickup truck which was found since it left the license plate at the scene.
1208. Harrisburg, Pa. Jan. 2. Unidentified man critically injured after being hit by a van which fled but was later found.
1209. Sunset, La. Jan. 2. Female pushing her friend in a wheelchair suffers two broken arms; the male listed in critical condition, after being struck by an unidentified car which fled the scene.
1210. Mesa, Ariz. Dec. 31. 15-year-old boy injured after being struck by an unknown vehicle that took off.

Delaware State Police say a hit-and-run crash in Georgetown helped troopers wrap up a month-long investigation into an alleged prostitution house on DuPont Highway.
Police say the final evidence came when the Georgetown Police Department responded to an accident in the parking lot of the Georgetown Walmart. Witnesses say a 1995 Honda sedan backed into a shopping cart pushed by a 29-year-old Georgetown man with a young child inside, and then drove away.

Justin Heartquist says he was having a “random hookup” with another woman at the time of the hit and run accident.

The Vermont Supreme Court ruled Thursday that a Killington lawyer should not have been convicted of both impeding a public officer and of giving false information to a police officer, and threw out his related jail sentence.
Melvin Neisner, who also is a former acting Vermont traffic court judge, was convicted in November 2008 of causing a motorcycle to hit his vehicle in September 2007 and then leaving the scene of the crash. He later told police his wife had been driving, and initially she was charged with hit-and-run.

Hit kid, claimed deer
LAWRENCEBURG, IN (FOX19) – Prosecutors want to add additional charges against the woman accused of fleeing the scene of a fatal hit and run back in September that killed a child.
Christina Shackelford-Grammer told police she thought she hit a deer, when in fact she ran over Jack Carpenter, 3, killing him in front of his grandmother’s home on North Dearborn Road.
Dearborn-Ohio County Prosecutor Aaron Negangard has motioned to amend charges to add Reckless Homicide, a class C felony.

An Ellicott City man has more than just insurance claims to worry about after a car crashed into his home earlier this month. Police say the crash revealed that 44-year-old Richard Marriott had an indoor marijuana farm.

DENVER – The Stapleton community held a blood and platelet drive Sunday in honor of Laurie Gorham, the victim of an unsolved hit-and-run.
Gorham suffered serious injuries that resulted in the death of her unborn son last month. She was struck by a dark-colored SUV at East 29th Avenue and Central Park Boulevard in Stapleton.
“We heard about what happened to Laurie and were just devastated. We have a little 9-month-old ourselves, and I just don’t know what I would have done if I would have been in her situtation,” Kristi Aarsby-Kail said.
And I quote (XI)… Here’s a perfect example of everything that’s wrong with Pa. state senate Republicans refusing to vote on a bill that would increase hit-and-run penalties in the state.
Liberty Township resident Michael S. Gural would later admit he drove away after striking the brothers. On Sept. 10, he drew a five-year state prison sentence under a plea bargain struck with retiring Warren County Assistant Prosecutor Craig Barto. It was only at sentencing that survivors of the victim learned Gural had a prior drunken-driving conviction.
Months later, the family of the victims is speaking out.
“There is no justice for my brothers and my family,” said Michelle McIntosh. “Are my brothers’ lives only worth two-and-a-half years each?”
