15491. Upset family members and community activists gathered outside the Sarasota Police Department on Tuesday to demand justice and accountability in last month’s deadly hit-and-run. Seventy-two-year-old June Fenton is accused of striking and killing two young children — five-month-old Rio and two-year-old Kiylan — before fleeing the scene. The children were crossing U.S. 301 at 7th Street with their mother, Taylor Joy Bennet, who remains in a coma.

15493. A seventh-grade student at Tyrone Area Middle School was a victim of a hit-and-run accident on her way to school this morning in Tyrone. According to a post made this morning on the Tyrone Police Department Facebook page, the girl was said to have been struck at approximately 6:55 am, resulting in the temporary closure of Pennsylvania Ave between 15th and 16th St and West 16th Street from Pennsylvania Ave to Logan Ave.

15496. Tacoma police are investigating a deadly hit-and-run Wednesday night. According to investigators, they found an unresponsive woman on the street. She died at the scene.
15497. A 56-year-old woman was critically hurt following a hit-and-run Wednesday night on the city’s Northwest Side.
15498. The Independence Police Department is investigating a Wednesday night crash that left a bicyclist hospitalized in critical condition.
15499. “These convictions send a message to anyone who thinks they can drive recklessly and cover up their crime: you will be held accountable,” Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner said in a statement on these convictions.
15500. A woman was killed on Elysian Fields Avenue Thursday night after being struck by a driver who fled the scene. The New Orleans Police Department said the call came in at 8 p.m. and that the woman, a pedestrian, was pronounced dead at the scene at Elysian Fields and Caton Street.
15501. COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10)– An accident has closed Wolf Road near Wolf Road and Beltrone Drive. According to the Colonie Police Department, around 6:30 a.m., police responded to a fatal pedestrian-auto accident.
15502. The Des Moines Police Department issued a material witness warrant for the owner of a minivan that was involved in a deadly hit an run accident in October 2024. 42-year-old Justin Romaine was killed in the accident and two others were injured.
15503. TACOMA, Wash. – Brand new video of the car believed to be involved in a deadly hit-and-run crash in Tacoma Wednesday night is being shared across social media. Police want to talk to the driver who was headed north on Spokane Street.
15504. Atascadero Police Chief Daniel Suttles tells KSBY the person hit was a boy. The call came in shortly before 3 p.m. A witness told police the vehicle involved was a gray Dodge Ram. A search for the vehicle and driver is underway.
15505. ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Anchorage police are investigating a hit and run involving a pedestrian who suffered life-threatening injuries Friday afternoon.
15506. PORTLAND, Ore. — A pedestrian has been hospitalized after a hit-and-run Friday evening, Portland police said.
15507. One person is dead after they were hit by a car in northeastern Oklahoma City overnight, according to police.
15508. A 14-year-old girl is dead and a 16-year-old boy is in the hospital with serious injuries after a hit-and-run crash in Garland on Saturday night, according to police. Around 10:15 p.m., police were called to the intersection of East Oates Road and Miami Drive. Upon arrival, police found two teenage victims in the roadway. The 14-year-old was pronounced dead on the scene and the 16-year-old was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Witnesses said they saw a man flee the car with a child after the crash and police located a car with extensive damage at the scene.
15509. TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily) — Two people are seriously hurt after being hit by a truck in Tempe Sunday night.
15510. FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — The California Highway Patrol is searching for the driver who hit and killed a woman on the Golden State on-ramp to northbound Highway 99 near downtown Fresno.
15511. “It was gruesome…but we brought him home to say goodbye,” she said. “We’re all affected. For me, it was like having a child.”
15512. CARTHAGE, Texas (KLTV) – Carthage police are looking for a driver suspected of hitting a 5-year-old Sunday evening. According to a release from the Carthage Police Department, the child was driving a motorized scooter around 6:40 p.m. while crossing the road in the 100 block of East Ash Street. Witnesses said a maroon sedan hit the child and left the scene without rendering aid.
15513. A hit-and-run collision killed a pedestrian just after 9 p.m. Sunday, an Albuquerque Police Department news release said.
