14822. At the scene, authorities found a 26-year-old woman in the roadway, suffering from trauma to her head and face. She was rushed to Einstein Medical Center, where she was placed in critical condition. Witnesses told police the victim was crossing Chew Avenue when a vehicle described as a dark-colored Cadillac struck her.

14824. The search continues for those responsible for a hit-and-run collision that badly injured a 13-year-old boy in Bellevue last weekend. “They intentionally tried to harm him and potentially kill him,” Sabrina Henderson, the boy’s mother, told KIRO 7.
14825. New data from a citizen oversight board is calling for major changes at the San Diego Police Department, particularly regarding the department’s vehicle pursuit policy. With the call for changes comes powerful testimony from a family who lost their two sons in December after a police chase ended in a fatal hit-and-run. “It is not worth the loss that we accept,” said an advocate of the family affected by the deadly pursuit that killed two children in Mountain View. The family of 8-year-old Malakai and 4-year-old Mason is now challenging the current police policy.
14826. New Orleans police are investigating a hit-and-run that happened just before 10:30 p.m. on Chef Menteur Highway near Michoud Boulevard. Police say a woman was killed on the scene.
14827. “Witnesses state that a white box truck collided with the pedestrian, left the area, and headed West toward Biltmore Avenue,” said Asheville police spokesperson Rick Rice. “Officers are attempting to locate the vehicle.”
14828. MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) — A bicyclist involved in a hit-and-run crash died in Murfreesboro Thursday evening.
14829. A 9-year-old pedestrian was critically injured in a hit-and-run crash on Chicago’s South Side Thursday night, Chicago police said. The girl was crossing the street with two others when the driver of a silver SUV failed to stop at a red light and hit her just before 8:40 p.m. in the 9500-block of South Paxton Avenue in the city’s Jeffery Manor neighborhood, CPD said.
14830. The pedestrian killed overnight Tuesday in a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 225 was struck by two vehicles, police said. Police initially reported that the motorist involved in the fatal crash stayed on scene, but later discovered that a second vehicle had hit the pedestrian and fled the crash, according to Denver Police Department spokesperson Sean Towle.
14831. BEAUMONT, Texas — Beaumont Police are investigating the death of a 52-year-old Beaumont man who was struck by a hit-and-run driver late Thursday night along College St. just east of Dowlen Rd.

14835. A man was killed early Sunday morning by a hit-and-run driver near UNLV. The 62-year-old was walking outside of a marked crosswalk on Harmon Avenue west of Paradise Road around 12:47 a.m. when he was hit by a “small to midsize, dark-colored SUV,” the Metropolitan Police Department said.
14836. Pittsburgh Police are investigating a reported hit-and-run crash. Officers were called to the intersection of Commonwealth Place and the Blvd. of the Allies Downtown after receiving reports of a vehicle that had hit a woman on a bike. A woman with injuries was found and taken to a hospital where she is in stable condition.
14837. “This was very unexpected and tragic,” she told KTLA. “My father was a loving father of three children, very hardworking and he worked at a Pavilions store where all his coworkers shared that he was greatly loved and cared for. The immense pain that my siblings and I are feeling is indescribable. We are devastated by this senseless loss and are seeking comfort and justice in this difficult time.”
14838. TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – A man is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a driver in midtown. Just after 9:30am on Saturday morning, Tucson Police responded to the area of Alvernon Way and E. Bellevue St. for the report of a pedestrian hit by a driver.
14839. Troopers say a pedestrian died in a fatal hit-and-run crash in Beaufort County on Friday. According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, it happened at 6:30 am on US 17 at the intersection of Possum Track Road. They identified the victim as 44-year-old William Crisp of Chocowinity, North Carolina.
