7296. Chaska, Minn. Oct. 13. Bicyclist injured when struck by a dark-colored four-door compact vehicle which fled the scene.

7297. Lincoln, Neb. Oct. 14. 18-year-old man injured when struck by a dark-colored SUV which fled the scene.

7298. Marion, Ill. Oct. 14. 11-year-old boy injured when struck by a vehicle which fled the scene; driver later found.

7306. Suffolk, NY. Oct. 16. 40-year-old man in wheelchair fatally struck by a dark-colored vehicle, possibly a Nissan, which fled the scene.

7307. Miami-Dade, Fla. Oct. 16. 14-year-old on bicycle struck by a vehicle which fled the scene.

7308. Albuquerque, NM. Oct. 17. Pedestrian critically injured when struck by a gold Chevy Impala which fled the scene.

7309. South Bend, Ind. Oct. 17. 27-year-old man injured when struck by a vehicle which fled the scene; driver later arrested.

7310. Nacodoches, Texas. Oct. 17. Juvenile male badly injured when struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.

Police have released a description of the vehicle they believe was involved in an Oct. 6 fatal hit-and-run in Longview.

Kevin Gene Moore, 50, of Longview was killed in the incident in the 1300 block of Mobberly Avenue.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – A mother, with three small children, is being investigated for a hit-and-run crash in Colorado Springs.

A 27-year-old man has been charged in the hit-and-run of a New Jersey college student who remains comatose.

“I can’t imagine it was on purpose,” Goodman said. “But it’s unbelievable that somebody could hit someone and just leave them there. Just to not call 911 … just to leave him there like that. There is someone out there who can provide us with the information to find peace and comfort in this terrible tragedy and help us to heal.”

An Allentown man is accused in a drunken hit-and-run crash, and having an infant passenger and open beer in his car.

And I quote (X)…

Family and friends of 21-year old Christina Vaughn, who was run over Saturday night and died in the hospital from her injuries, gathered at a vigil and flag raising in her honor Wednesday morning at Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital.

It was Saturday when Vaughn got out of her vehicle on SPID to retrieve a mattress that had fallen out. That’s when she was hit by a vehicle. She died from her injuries Monday night.

Police are still looking for the hit and run driver.

At Wednesday’s vigil it was clear that everybody wanted one thing — for the person responsible to come forward. Vaughn’s fiancee spoke at the vigil.

“I can somewhat understand why you would run. You were freaked out. I understand,” he said. “But whoever did this, if you have a heart or soul, we’ll forgive you. Just turn yourselves in. Just give everybody some comfort. Y’all took whole life away.”

“I need closure. We need closure as a family. We can’t go on living without knowing,” she said.

And I quote (XII)…

“He’s in Heaven, now, okay? So he’s in a better place,” he told her during the prayers and remembrances.

“What came back to me time after time” in deliberation, he said, “was that this accident was just that — an accident. … It was a horrible, life-shattering accident, but an accident nonetheless.”
