4610. Glendale, Ariz. Jan. 2. Man in his 50s fatally struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
4611. Honolulu, Hawaii. Jan. 3. 94-year-old man injured when struck by a green sedan which fled the scene.
4612. Detroit, Mich. Jan. 3. 54-year-old man fatally struck by a black Dodge which fled the scene.
4613. Baltimore, Md. Jan. 3. Woman fatally struck by a dark pickup truck which fled the scene.
4614. Middletown, Ohio. Jan. 5. Man injured when struck by a 2003 Kia which fled the scene.
4615. Upper Darby, Pa. Jan. 5. 69-year-old man (and 5-year-old poodle) killed when struck by a white sedan which fled the scene. Other drivers drove around his body while in the street.
4616. Philadelphia, PA. Jan. 6. Man in his 70s fatally struck by a vehicle — possibly a dark colored sedan — which fled the scene.
4617. Queens, NY. Jan. 5. 20-year-old woman fatally struck by a vehicle which fled the scene; driver returns claiming fog rendered her unable to realize she hit someone.
4618. Dubois, Pa. Jan. 5. Pedestrian critically injured when struck by a blue or grey two-door vehicle which fled the scene.
4619. Westlake, Cal. Jan. 5. Man injured when struck by a black pickup truck which fled the scene.

Roanoke police say a woman who was hit by a pickup truck back in October has passed away.
Police say Christine Willis Turner, 56, died on Sunday.

Now, reports show hit-and-run crashes are up 10%. Is the absence of police making drivers worse or more daring?
This study concludes that even a stationary police presence could immediately reduce accident rates by 9%. Let’s see, no cops, 10% rise more cops, 9% decrease. Dallas you do the math.

SPRINGFIELD — A Tavistock Street man described by police as a “strong suspect” in the New Year’s Day hit-and-run crash that took the life of 25-year-old city resident Derek Russell was arrested in Ludlow Friday morning.
Adam Thurber, 38, was arrested on an outstanding warrant on charges relating to drunken driving and a marked lanes violation from last April, Sgt. John M. Delaney said.

Waco police have arrested a man they say fled the scene of a fatal hit and run in early December.
39-year-old Bruce Donnell Wilkerson Sr., of Marlin, is charged with failure to stop and render aid. Police say he was driving a Dodge Magnum that fled the scene of a crash that killed 51-year-old Norma Alicia Valedez-Garcia.
