4199. Balch Springs, Texas. Sept. 29. Woman injured when struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.

4200. St. Paul, Minn. Oct. 3. 31-year-old man injured when struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.

4201. Chicago, Ill. Oct. 1. Man in his 30s injured when struck by a red Grand Prix which fled the scene.

4202. Chicago, Ill. Oct. 1. 17-year-old female critically injured when struck by a black pickup truck which fled the scene.

4212. Jersey City, NJ. Oct. 1. Man suffers life-threatening injuries when struck by a taxi which fled the scene.

4213. Jersey City, NJ. Oct. 1. Bicyclist injured when struck by a burgundy BMW SUV which fled the scene.

4214. Livingston, Alaska. Sept. 30. 83-year-old man fatally struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.

And I quote (I)…

FREMONT, Calif. — Fremont Police announced Tuesday that an anonymous donation by a family friend has led to a $10,000-reward being offered for information leading to an arrest in a hit-and-run case.

Life changed in an instant for John Vigdal, 56, of Fremont, as he was riding his bike to work the morning of Aug. 8, 2013.

According to Fremont Police officers, Vigdal was struck by a hit-and-run driver about 5:42 a.m. as he was headed southbound in the bike lane on Fremont Boulevard near Old Warm Springs Boulevard.

“He had a subdural hematoma so he had quite a bit of bleeding on his brain,” said Alexis Vigdal Fernandez, the victim’s daughter. “It was a pretty significant brain injury.”

Fernandez said in additional to the traumatic brain injury, her father suffered numerous broken ribs and fractures to his spine and pelvis.

Fernandez said it was just four month ago when her father walked her down the aisle. Now, she watches him struggle while taking a few simple steps.

UPPER MERION — Police have released a sketch of the man believed to be involved in a hit-and-run that occurred took at 9:37 p.m. Sept. 18 in front of Sullivan’s Steakhouse on Route 202.

The crash took place when a driver was rear-ended. The victim left his vehicle to talk to the man who hit him, but the driver of the striking vehicle fled the scene, striking the victim and dragging him 208 feet. As the victim broke free from the suspect’s vehicle he was run over. According to police, the suspect’s vehicle never stopped and was last seen fleeing northbound on Route 202.

The victim has since been released from Paoli Hospital and is now in a rehabilitation center.

Delaware State Police have charged a motorcyclist with more than 70 traffic offenses after troopers say he hit a horse, fled the scene and led law enforcers on a high-speed chase.

And I quote (IV)…

A Jefferson High School standout wrestler who allegedly struck and seriously injured a bicyclist in June while driving under the influence in Athens recently was indicted on felony charges.

Initially charged with DUI, hit-and-run, reckless driving and underage consumption of alcohol, Jace Leamon McColskey has been further accused in the indictment of three felony counts of serious injury accident.

According to the indictment, recently filed in Clarke County Superior Court, the teen “deprived” 47-year-old Jens Dressler of a vertebrae by rendering it useless.

SPRINGFIELD – A man who called himself “the biggest name in the city” was arrested on weapons, traffic and assault charges after he scuffled with police following a hit-and-run accident in the area of Federal Street early Wednesday, according to police.

And I quote (VI)…

“I’m on a whole soup full of pills,” Shellenberger said, according to police before adding, “I barely hit either of those cars. I don’t know why they are flipping out.”

And I quote (VII)…

Luis Bravo’s death at the hands of a hit-and-run driver wasn’t the first warning sign about the dangers of walking along Broadway between 69th Street and Northern Boulevard in Woodside. In March of last year, Ed Surmenian, who lives at the intersection with 61st Street, said drivers regularly speed down Broadway and contacted Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer to complain.

Van Bramer sent three letters — one to DOT and two to NYPD — requesting signal retiming and speeding enforcement.

And I quote (VIII)…

SEATTLE — A teenager who had been in a coma since a July hit and run is finally awake, and his mom hopes it’s just the first step in his recovery.

After 73 days of holding vigil by her comatose son’s side, Quianna Holden finally heard hope from her child’s doctor this week.

“That was the best sound I ever heard in my life, is that he is no longer in a coma and he was awake,” she said.
