3626. Lanham, Md. April 7. 37-year-old man injured when struck by a dark SUV which fled the scene.
3627. Springfield, Mass. April 6. 19-year-old man injured when struck by a 2012 or 2013 Buick Verano which fled the scene.
3628. Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. April 6. Unidentified man fatally struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.

3629. Harlem, NY. April 6. 21-year-old woman struck and killed by a cab which fled the scene; driver later surrendered.
3630. Lexington, Ky. April 6. Woman injured when struck by a silver Dodge Charger which did a U-Turn and fled the scene.
3631. Fort Wayne, Ind. April 7. 11-year-old boy on bicycle injured when struck by a brown four-door vehicle with tinted windows which fled the scene.
3632. Streamwood, Ill. April 5. Teenage female injured when struck by a white Ford Explorer which fled the scene.
3633. Lowell, Mass. April 6. Man in his thirties injured when struck by a Mazda which fled the scene.
3634-35. Staten Island, NY. April 6. Two pedestrians injured when struck by a white pickup truck which fled the scene.

Less than two years ago, Leroy A. Bronson lost his wife and young daughter to a drunk driver.
On Sunday, Bronson — known by friends and family as Buddy — was killed at a Kansas City intersection when a hit-and-run driver collided with his motorcycle, police said.
“It’s unfathomable,” said Kansas City police Sgt. Bill Mahoney. “The circumstances of both (fatalities) are not that far apart.”

Albemarle County Police are scouring local car dealerships and body shops to help find the second car involved in a fatal hit-and-run along Route 250 in Crozet last week.
Police are getting local businesses on board to see if they have any information relating to a dark-colored Saab that may have damage or need repairs.
A general sales manager at Brown Automotive says there aren’t many Saabs out there, and the parts are hard to get, so they’re glad to be working with police on this.

Detroit Police said a gray BMW was northbound on Gratiot near Seneca in Detroit shortly after 3 p.m. when it crossed lanes, hitting a 56-year-old man as he crossed the street. The vehicle came to a stop at Seneca and a man ran out from the passenger’s side of the BMW.
The driver had been shot, police said.

“I remember getting off the bus and crossing the street. I was trying to text my mom telling her I’d be home in a couple of hours,” Doby said. “I didn’t even get to say ‘couple’ when I heard a weird screeching sound coming from the road. I turned around and there was a car coming up right behind me.”

The South Carolina Highway Patrol says around 9 p.m. Thursday the driver of an Oldsmobile struck and killed a person in the road on Tanyard Street in Timmonsville.

Nearly once a week in South Florida, a driver hits someone and makes the horrific, split-second decision to save his or her own skin instead of the life of that person left to die on the street.
These motorists killed 92 people in Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade Counties in the last two years alone.
Each time, the fear of consequence outweighed any shred of conscience — and the driver sped away.
Among the dead: a little girl who shared her allowance money with siblings; a popular teenage boy who was just learning to drive; a grandmother who was her family’s anchor; and a young father who missed his baby’s first steps.
