An ongoing collection of unsolved hit-and-run cases, with a focus on car/pedestrian incidents, from across the country since Jan. ‘010. If you know something about any of these incidents, or one that I’ve missed, do the right thing and call the police, even anonymously.

3089. Suitland, Md. Sept. 29. 55-year-old man killed when struck by a white Chevrolet Impala which fled the scene.

3090. Harahan, La. Oct. 1. 71-year-old woman killed when struck and dragged a half mile by a vehicle which fled the scene but was later found.

3091. Richmond, Ky. Oct. 1. Man suffers broken leg when struck by a white, 1990s model GMC or Chevrolet full-size pickup truck which fled the scene.

3092. Bullhead City, Ariz. Sept. 30. 50-year-old man on bike struck and killed by an 1990s older-model pickup which fled the scene.

3093. Rochester, NH. Sept. 30. 42-year-old woman injured when struck by a small black car which fled the scene.

3094. Algonquin, Ill. Oct. 1. 22-year-old man struck and killed by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.

3095. Brooklyn, NY. Oct. 1. 26-year-old man struck and killed by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene. (More info on victim).

3096. Lancaster, Pa. Oct. 1. Man injured when struck by a light-colored truck or SUV which fled the scene.

Two close-knit refugee families are mourning the deaths of their young daughters Monday after a Sunday night hit-and-run in a north Amarillo neighborhood.

Augustine Ndayisenga, whose daughter Irafasha Vestina, 12, was killed in the accident, spoke to a family friend in the Kirundi language, telling him he’s “crying deep inside.”

“She says in reality she doesn’t remember much about the accident,” said Figueroa. “What she does think about is the things she’s lost.”

A 27-year-old man who ran from the scene of a hit-and-run accident Saturday at Ken Pratt Boulevard told police it was because he didn’t have a license, not because of alcohol, according to reports. Police said the man later called his wife and told her, in front of officers, that he hadn’t had “near as much to drink” as usual. Police arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence, hit-and-run, careless driving, driving under revocation and obstruction of the police.
