3070. Marietta, Ga. Sept. 26. 49-year-old man on bicycle critically injured when struck by a dark older-model Honda which fled the scene.

3071. Jefferson Hills, Pa. Sept. 25. 28-year-old woman injured when struck by a silver Kia Sorrento which fled the scene.

3072. Marquette, Mich. Sept. 27. Woman injured when struck by a pickup truck which fled the scene.

3073. San Antonio, Texas. Sept. 27. Man injured when struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.

3074. Salt Lake City, Utah. Sept. 28. 68-year-old woman injured when struck by a blue or turquoise Dodge Caliber which fled the scene. “Police described the driver as an African-American man in his early 20s with a large ‘Afro’ hairstyle.”

3075-76. Fort Worth, Texas. Sept. 28. 25-year-old man and 26-year-old woman injured when intentionally struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.

3077-78. Rainbow City, Ala. Sept. 25. 45-year-old father and his 13-year-old son “riding a tandem bicycle on their way to volunteeer handing out food at a church” injured when struck by a 2001 to 2006 silver Lincoln LS which fled the scene.

3079. Las Vegas. Sept. 28. 75-year-old woman critically injured when struck by a blue pickup truck which fled the scene.

3080. Winston-Salem, NC. Sept. 28. 47-year-old man on a scooter killed when struck by a gray pickup truck with large 4×4 tires which fled the scene.

3081-83. Eureka, Cal. Sept. 28. While jogging together, 40-year-old woman killed, and 41-year-old and 50-year-old suffered major injuries when struck by a 2005 Kia Spectra which fled the scene.

3084. West Hempfield Twp., Pa. Sept. 27. Man injured when struck by a light SUV or truck which fled the scene.

3085. Manhattan, NY. Sept. 28. 75-year-old man struck and killed by a black Honda Civic which fled the Broadway scene.

3086. North Hampton, NH. Pedestrian injured when struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.

3087. San Diego. Sept. 29. 19-year-old man injured when struck and dragged by a grey compact car which fled the scene.

3088. El Paso, Texas. Sept. 29. 20-year-old man suffers life-threatening injuries when struck by a silver car which fled the scene.

GREENSBORO — A father turned in his 16-year-old son to police in connection with a fatal hit-and-run Tuesday night on East Wendover Avenue, police said.

Mohamed Fuad Albureshaid of 1527 New Garden Road, Apt. 2F, has been charged with felony hit-and-run and misdemeanor death by motor vehicle. Police said he was released to the custody of his father.

Scumbag-cop alert

A 15-year New Orleans Police Department veteran has resigned after he allegedly falsified a report to cover up a hit-and-run accident in his personal car, according to officials. Former officer Roger Jones, who used to handle “quality of life” issues in the 8th District, was also jailed Friday on counts of hit-and-run driving and maintaining a false public record.

And I quote (I)…

A 25-year-old Denver man with a history of arrests is being held in the hit-and-run crash that killed 32-year-old Laura McDermott as she crossed South Broadway at East Cedar Avenue at 1 a.m. Sunday.

Witness allegedly saw Dennis P. Esquibel driving his mother’s 1991 Toyota Corolla with two female passengers, police said at a Thursday afternoon press conference to announce the arrest.

Police say they’ve located and seized a red 1984 Pontiac Fiero believed to be involved in Sept. 20 hit-and-run collision that seriously injured 26-year-old Anchorage resident Zachary Mohs.

And I quote (III)…

EAST ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) — Police have charged the driver of a pickup truck that hit and killed a 45-year-old woman as she crossed the street with her daughter in East St. Louis on September 19.

And I quote (IV)…

University of Southern Mississippi police have arrested a suspect in Sunday’s hit-and-run accident on Fourth Street that left one student injured.

Lisa Christine Wilson, 38, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident. She is being held in the Forrest County Jail.

University Police Chief Bob Hopkins said officers were able to use camera footage from the scene of the accident to help identify the suspect, who was interviewed and arrested Wednesday morning.

And I quote (V)…

OREGON CITY, OR (KPTV) – A man who admitted to hitting a teen with a car in Oregon City and then driving off changed his plea in court.
Juan Carlos Delatorre, 19, pleaded guilty to one count felony hit-and-run on Wednesday. A judge sentenced him to 45 days in jail and three years of probation. His drivers license will also be revoked for one year.

And I quote (VI)…

“When we told her we were going to call the cops she took off,” Mike Barone said.

And I quote (VII)…

Bowers was stopped by a Columbia police officer near USC’s Greek Village on Blossom street a few minutes after the accident was reported.

Police say that along with the marijuana, Bowers allegedly possessed psychedelic mushrooms.

And I quote (VIII)…

MUNCIE — When 50-year-old Doroteo Castillo Chavez — accused of running down a 2-year-old girl while driving drunk — missed his initial court hearing, there was speculation it was an oversight on his part.

An attorney suggested Chavez’s purportedly limited grasp of the English language might have been a factor.

Three weeks later, with no further word from Chavez, it’s no longer assumed his disappearance has been anything other than intentional.

And I quote (IX)…

A 53-year-old driver who fatally struck a 26-year-old pedestrian in Southeast Portland and then drove off –thwarting any chance of police gathering blood evidence that he was drunk — was sentenced Friday to 1 1/2 years in prison.

The sentence is the maximum allowed by Oregon sentencing guidelines. Jimmy Dean Patterson’s attorney had argued for probation, which is the minimum allowed, but Judge Michael McShane said he was giving Patterson the maximum because Patterson made “a decision to disregard basic human decency” by leaving pedestrian Jason Lee Grant fatally injured on the road.

“I’m thankful that I’m alive and kicking,” Gargano said from his hospital bed at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. “A lot of people don’t get this chance. It’s just over.”

A Wilmington (Del.) woman involved in a serious hit-and-run crash died from her injuries, according to investigators.

ANDERSON, Ind. (AP) – Police say they’ve captured an Indiana man who eluded his pursuers for three days after he tried to run over an officer who was seeking to arrest him on a child molesting charge.
