3050. Anchorage, Ak. Sept. 20. 34-year-old man lost a leg when struck by a red Pontiac Fiero which fled the scene.
3051. Cheyenne, Wyo. Sept. 20. School boy injured when struck by a light-colored SUV which fled the scene.
3052. Murrieta, Cal. Sept. 21. 69-year-old woman struck and killed by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
3053. Philadelphia, Pa. Sept. 20. 28-year-old woman critically injured when struck by a Ford Windstar or Chrysler Town and Country – green or turquoise in color – which fled the scene.

COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA (CBS) – A 24-year-old nurse from Danvers remains in critical condition in a South Carolina hospital a week after a hit and run crash, and now her family is offering a $5,000 reward in the case.
Lindsay Bires, a Cardiac nurse at Palmetto Health Heart Hospital in Columbia, S.C., was hit by a car while standing on the sidewalk outside the hospital around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday.
Witnesses said the car ran off the side of the road at least twice before striking Bires.

A civil lawsuit filed against a Villanova socialite who pleaded guilty to a hit-and-run car accident has been settled for $635,000, the victim’s attorney announced Thursday.
Richard Hollawell, a Philadelphia personal-injury lawyer, represented the family of 13-year-old Andrew Mallee, of Bryn Mawr, which benefited from the settlement.
The boy was struck and seriously injured in 2009 while riding his bike along New Gulph Road near Bryn Mawr College.
The driver, Suzanne Lammers, became rattled by police sirens and left the scene without checking on the boy, police said. She told investigators she thought she hit a deer, but police found her car under a tarp inside her garage, concealing the front-end damage.
Lammers was convicted of leaving the scene of an accident causing injury, and served a 90-day prison sentence.
Hollawell expressed satisfaction as he left an approval hearing on the settlement last Thursday in Montgomery County.
“The family and I are very pleased with the settlement. The family has endured three years of court hearings in the criminal and civil matters, and a fair result was our only goal in the civil case..” he said.

A member of the Joker’s Wrath Motorcycle Club caught the incident on video.
Police said Jay Patrick Gardner, 33, was driving under the influence when he slammed into several motorcycles and a mini-van parked on Market Street, outside the motorcycle club’s building.

Where is my mom?’ ” said Ann Lussier, the aunt of Kaisha Guerrini, who police say died Thursday night in a devastating crash on North Main Street (Route 152) in Attleboro. “Kay was a fabulous mother. She used tough love, but was never tough. When she told him to do something, he listened to her.”

While police were talking to the men, a woman approached officers and said she’d been hit in the face with a case of Natural Light Beer. The woman had very visible wounds, most profound, her entire bottom row of teeth were missing.
Police stopped a Chevy Suburban later in the evening, believing it to be connected to the incident. Sheriff Mike Grzegorek says the car’s driver had a lengthy criminal record in addition to alcohol, and possibly drugs stashed inside his car. The driver was arrested on the scene. Police have yet to release his name.

Another fundraiser is planned to assist the family of an off-duty Pinckney reserve officer who was severely injured in a hit-and-run crash. Police Officer Robert Bielak lost his leg in the September 4th crash and remains in critical but stable condition at a Cleveland hospital after suffering complications from post-surgery to close his above-the-knee amputation.
