3001. Flagstaff, Ariz. Sept. 9. 22-year-old man struck and killed by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
3002. Sandy Springs, Ga. Sept. 11. 67-year-old woman struck and killed by a dark SUV which fled the scene.
3003. Hollywood, Cal. Sept. 10. Pedestrian struck and killed by a sedan from which fled the driver fled.
3004. Corpus Christi, Texas. Sept. 10. 68-year-old man on a bicycle injured when struck by a SUV which fled the scene.
3005. Nashville, Tenn. Sept. 10. 35-year-old man struck and killed by a red or brown vehicle which fled the scene.
3006. Orlando, Fla. Sept. 11. Teenager on a bike injured when struck by a red, extended-cab Ford F-150 with tinted windows which fled the scene.
3007. Palm Desert, Cal. Sept. 10. 16-year-old male injured when struck by a two-door, white car made in the early 2000s which fled the scene.

Extensive media coverage of an alleged hit-and-run that killed a bicyclist and a “mob rule mentality” surrounding the case, among other factors, make it impossible for Elias Webb to get a fair trial by a Richmond jury, a defense attorney argued in court papers filed today.
Craig Cooley asked that the case be moved to another venue or that the Richmond Circuit Court summon jurors from another city or county to hear the case.

Lakewood police have named a suspect in a hit-and-run accident that killed an Afghan War veteran last month.
Police believe the driver, Heriberto Palacio, 35, is still in the metro area. A warrant has been issued for two counts of felony hit and run.
Jesse Pringle, 26, an Army specialist and a former Lakewood High School football player, was knocked off his motorcycle by a dark-colored Ford Expedition on Aug. 19 near West Alameda Avenue and South Benton Street. A passenger on the motorcycle was seriously injured but survived.

That’s how friends and classmates of the 21-year-old NAU student are remembering her in the wake of her death on Sunday night.
Mahoney was killed when a suspected drunk driver hit her while she was riding her bike in a south Flagstaff residential neighborhood.
A few candles and a lone flower marked the accident site on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old suspect has been arrested on charges of manslaughter and fleeing the scene of an accident.

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A $10,000 reward was being offered Wednesday for information leading to the arrest of a hit-and-run driver who killed a 38-year-old man and injured the victim’s 7-year-old daughter.

WOODSTOCK – Police have found the person they believe was behind the wheel when a 6-year-old boy was struck and killed Saturday night.
The person’s identity has not yet been released, but an interview has been conducted, McHenry County Undersheriff Andrew Zinke said Monday.

Branden Thornton, 18, and Anthony Bonet, 22, were walking along the shoulder of S. Gulph Rd. about 9 p.m. when they were struck by a white van. The vehicle fled the scene leaving Thornton seriously injured, said police.

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A man who witnessed a deadly hit-and-run crash involving a motorcycle helped police track down the driver of the car involved.

Derrick Graham, 40, was struck by a beige SUV near the northbound ramp to Interstate 664 on July 25. The SUV fled the scene. Virginia State Police said they were looking for his wife, who was driving his 2003 Chevy Envoy after they had come out of a hearing at the Newport News Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

Authorities say the off-duty Philadelphia police officer was struck by a vehicle while riding a motorcycle near Front Street and Dewey Road at about 3:15 p.m. Police say the female driver of the striking vehicle left the scene of the crash, but was stopped a short time later and taken into custody.
