“A dog found dead Wednesday in a hot sedan led to a felony charge against its owner, authorities said.
Bond for Bill Cody Omer, 23, of Houston, was set at $15,000 on a felony charge of cruelty to an animal, said Lt. Joel Caldwell, who heads the Galveston Police Department’s Animal Services Unit. …
An officer arrived and found Omer crying next to his blue sedan, Caldwell said. Police found a blue pit bull, about a year old, dead inside the automobile, he said.
‘He was remorseful, but when he got to jail, he smiles and gives a thumbs up in his mug shot,’ Caldwell said.
