2302. Bristol, Pa. Feb. 19. 36-year-old man struck and killed by a dark-colored Audi which fled the scene.
2303. Sante Fe, NM. Feb. 15. 50-year-old man struck and killed by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
2304. Cobb County, Ga. Feb. 15. 7-year-old girl injured when struck by a white, Ford F-150 pickup which fled the scene.
2305-6. Miami, Fla. Feb. 15. Two bicyclists — including an Ironman competitor and marathoner who was critically injured with “a massive head injury” — struck by a silver 2009-2011 Honda with possible damage to the right side of its hood which fled the scene. 2307. Wahiawa, Hawaii. Feb. 15. Man in his 20s injured when struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
2308. Charlottesville, Va. Feb. 15. 27-year-old pregnant woman suffers non-life-threatening injuries when struck by a BMW or a similar type of vehicle which fled.
2309. Clinton, Md. Feb. 18. Unidentified woman struck and killed by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
2310-11. Detroit, Mich. Feb. 17. 53-year-old woman killed and 41-year-old woman seriously injured when struck by a light colored Buick, possibly a Century, which didn’t even slow down in fleeing.

Thomas J. Presley Will Burn In Hell For What He’s Done…
Thomas J. Presley, 21, of Stover, reported that his girlfriend’s son had been struck by a car on Highway 135 near Buttons Road in Morgan County. The boy was taken by ambulance to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
According to police, based on inconsistencies at the scene, statements of Thomas Presley and the violent trauma to the head and torso of the little boy, Presley was further questioned by law enforcement.
Police say that Presley staged the hit and run to cover up an assault on the boy at Presley’s home.

A man who witnessed an accident led police to the alleged suspect in a hit-and-run with injury, according to a Conway Police Department incident report.

Some time after fliers were distributed with photos of the suspected hit-and-run truck, police received another tip that moved the investigation forward. A tipster called police, saying they observed a man having a “peculiar reaction” to one of the fliers, according to police.
The tipster also told police that the man was driving a truck that matched the description given for the hit-and-run driver’s truck.

A Houston man reported to police that KTRH talk show host Michael Berryplowed his SUV into another car outside T.C.’s Show Baron Converse near Fairview in the Montrose area about 11 p.m. on January 31st.

Becky Nelson had just parked her car at the Maple Grove Community Center on Feb. 20, 2003, to go to her son’s hockey practice that night. She was walking across a side street towards the front entrance when she was hit by a car, and police say the driver took off. Nelson died as a result of the accident.
Police say no witnesses from the incident have come forward and there were no outside cameras at the community center, so there is no visual evidence of the incident.

With so many crashes, public anger is rising. In 2008, then state legislator Cheri Jahn helped write a new law that toughened the penalty for a hit and run in which someone died. It passed. The penalty is now as tough for a hit and run resulting in death as it is for a DUI resulting in death.
Lawmakers could go no further in making the law tougher. Jahn, now a state senator from Wheat Ridge, said they looked at raising the penalty for a hit and run causing severe bodily injury to the same level as that for a DUI with similar results.
“Oh I definitely think the laws should be tougher when there’s a hit and run and there’s serious bodily injury,” said Jahn, a Democrat. She believes there’s strong bipartisan support for the legislation. But it’s not getting done and it’s not likely to this year.

Todd Counard was killed a year ago in a hit-and-run accident, and Green Bay police say they have not received a tip in the case since June.

An off-duty City of Fond du Lac police officer has been arrested for drunken driving and hit and run.
An intoxicated Kyle Strands, a 12-year veteran of the force, at about 2 a.m. today crashed into a parked vehicle while traveling westbound on Forest Avenue near Peters Avenue. Strands was in his personal vehicle, said Capt. Steve Klein.
Strands then left the scene.
