871. Tigard, Oreg. Sept. 16. 57-year-old woman struck by a red, full-size pickup truck with a distinctive spoiler which left the scene.
872. Dalton, Tenn. Sept. 15. 7-year-old boy on bicycle hit by a brown Chevrolet Silverado from which the driver got out, “picked up the bicycle and its rider and carried them to the door step of a residence” but fled when he was told the police were being called.
873. Jacksonville, Fla. Sept. 10. 46-year-old man on bicycle suffers life-threatening injuries when struck by a tan 1993 Ford F350 pickup that fled the scene.
874. Lithonia, Ga. Sept. 12.
875. Albany, NY. Sept. 15. 9-year-old boy injured when struck by a red pickup truck which took off from the scene.
876. Houston. Sept. 5. 19-year-old woman struck and killed by a 2003-2005 dark-colored Toyota Camry which fled the scene.
877. Sacramento, Cal. Sept. 17. A 17-year-old on bicycle was injured after being struck by a Dark Gray Nissan Pathfinder or a Armada which fled the scene.
878. Winston-Salem, NC. Sept. 15. 28-year-old man injured after being struck by a white Dodge pick-up truck which fled the scene.
879. Atwood, Cal. Sept 14. 12- and 13-year-old boys injured after being struck by a black car, possibly a Honda, which fled the scene.
880. New York City, NY. Sept 15. 29-year-old man struck and killed by an undescribed vehicle.

PHOENIX — Justin James Thrasher was sentenced to 18 years in prison Friday for his involvement in a 2008 hit-and-un collision, according to the Maricopa County Superior Court.
Judge Joseph Welty found Thrasher guilty of a felony hit-and-run, manslaughter and reckless endangerment.
On Nov. 23, 2008, Thrasher struck a Suzuki motorcycle with his 2004 Nissan Maxima, killing the rider, 26-year-old Bradley Kuhn, instantly.
Witnesses report Thrasher was traveling at over 100 mph in a 2004 Nissan Maxima southbound on Hayden Road before the accident occurred.

Oregon State Police got help from the Ontario Police, who had special thermal imaging equipment. The police were able to find Schoene using that equipment.
“We recently used it also to find a driver involved in a hit-and-run accident outside of Sandy, Oregon,” said Lt. Gregg Hastings of the Oregon State Police. “It was a piece of equipment that the fire department uses. They use it in fire scenes to try and locate people, and it came in very helpful to us in both these incidents to locate suspects who had fled vehicles and were trying to avoid arrest.”
