An ongoing collection of unsolved hit-and-run cases, with a focus on car/pedestrian incidents, from across the country since Jan. ‘010. If you know something about any of these incidents, or one that I’ve missed, do the right thing and call the police, even anonymously.

423. Hyannis, Mass. May 19. Man in his 20s suffers non-life-threatening injuries, possibly after an altercation, when struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.

424. Fargo, ND. May 20. Volunteer police officer directing traffic after a minor-league hockey game struck by “a large light colored SUV” which fled, leaving him with a broken rib and other minor injuries.

425. Mt. Vernon, Ill. May 19. 6-year-old girl suffers minor injuries when struck by a “dark blue pickup, driven by a white female … (who) “allegedly started to slow down, but then continued driving down the street.”

426. New Canaan, Ct. May 21. 82-year-old man on a bicycle seriously injured when struck by what’s “believed to be a 2003-06 Audi Cabriolet convertible, possibly black in color.”

427. Lynnwood, Wash. May 21. 22-year-old woman injured when struck by “a Jeep Cherokee or an SUV [from which] the driver got out, looked at the woman and left the scene.”

428. Jackson Hole, Wyo. May 19. Bicyclist injured when thrown over the handlebars after being struck by a “a red SUV, possibly a Toyota Forerunner” that fled the scene.

429. Philadelphia. May 13. 13-year-old boy injured when struck by a vehicle for which police obtained a description and found someone matching the driver description. No charges … yet.

430. Seattle. May 22. Pedestrian killed when struck by a vehicle which fled the scene. Details emerging.

The victim of a hit-and-run earlier this week in Irving, Texas was a Marine (pictured). “Evan Sanchey, 23, was flying home to Yakima, Washington but had a layover at DFW Airport, according to the mother of a fellow Marine.” Sanchey was home on leave from Afghanistan.
