As most of you have probably figured out by now, I haven’t been writing for journalistic publications since leaving the field for a marketing/content job at Thomas Jefferson University. Well, I always said that I’d write again if the right story found its way to me which one did courtesy of an unexpected call from Jon Wertheim of Sports Illustrated and 60 Minutes.

It centers on the wild case of a Bucks County mother who stands accused of working up deepfake videos of her daughter’s cheerleading teammates. Spent some time doing some on-the-ground reporting and talking to the accused’s attorney who said prosecutors got it all wrong (and that his client could end up a very wealthy woman thanks to a potential civil suit.)
