Hit-and-run dragging survivor Nick Perkins and family

An ongoing collection of unsolved hit-and-run cases, with a focus on car/pedestrian incidents, from across the country since Jan. ‘010. If you know something about any of these incidents, or one that I’ve missed, do the right thing and call the police, even anonymously.

600. Freeport, NY. July 5. Man in his 30s fatally struck by a yet-described vehicle while crossing the street.

601. Memphis, TN. July 5. 37-year-old man struck and killed in front of a hospital by a “white newer model Chevrolet Caprice with a damaged font windshield” which fled the scene.

602. Wausau, Wisc. July 5. Man critically injured after being struck by a light silver Honda SUV with donut spare tire which fled the scene.

603. Winchester, Ind. June 30. 9-year-old suffers head and face injuries after being struck by “a older model light colored truck … pulling a dark-colored trailer with metal sides [that] contained a lawn mower and scrap metal.”

604. New Bedford, Mass. July 4. Man and woman found injured in the street and sidewalk respectively after being struck by a vehicle which was described in police broadcasts (but not in the story I read about it.)

Saturday marked two years since Nick Perkins (pictured), then 17, was hit and dragged for more than half a kilometre on Mount Albion Road in Stoney Creek as he cycled home from a party with a friend.
But for Perkins and his family it also marked how far he has come, including officially graduating from high school last month.
